In these days, approximately 90% of the student population has some type of membership or account in the various social sites, Facebook. It is the largest social site in the world today, launched February 2004 by Harvard students Mark Zuckerberg and his roommate Eduardo Saverin. Facebook was originally created for Harvard students only, for them to keep in touch when they were away from the campus, but the site has been now expanded worldwide with now having more than one billion active users, the majority of these users are still college students. It has been also very famous for being a distraction among the students. Facebook is one of the most widely used social networks in the United States as well as in several other countries worldwide. It is used by businesses, students, groups, organizations for multiple purposes including promotion, staying connected with old friends, making new friends, supporting hot topics/issues, and sharing ideas and images via one network. This kind of communication makes it easy for people to be able to express ideas and feelings with one another easily and more efficiently. This amazing new technology has helped to evolve businesses, companies, and peoples’ lives worldwide in an effort to build more awareness, publicize events, and keep in touch with friends and family. Facebook is a very popular social networking site. We as an avid user of Facebook, we find it hard to believe that at one point it didn't exist. In fact, it has become so much a part of people's lives that you can learn their life story just by checking their page. Their friends, likes and dislikes, relationship status, phone number, address, everything. Sounds a little dangerous. There are some positive effects of using facebook like; Keeping in touch with family and friends, Making new friends, and Expressing yourself.
