One day, on my home my sister was angry with my mom, because her friends have facebook and she want make one, and my sister said to my mom, “Mis amigas tienen y dicen que es muy divertido”, and my mom said, “No porque tus amigas tienen tu vas a querer tu no sabes los peligros que puede tener o las personas con las que hablas pore so no te voy a dar permiso de hacer uno”. I will explain three negative things about facebook or other social networks. First negative this about facebook is distraction. Sometimes when she is doing her homework, she entered in facebook or twitter, and forgets what she was doing. In the morning she was doing her homework all asleep because in the night when she should be doing her homework was distracted with facebook, and my mom scold to her and said, “Vez por estar distraerte en facebook mira ahora estas haciendo la tarea a mera hora”, and she said, “Ay mama ya dejame de reganar no es cierto estaba pidiendole la tarea a alguien” and my mom said, “no es cierto”.
The second negative thing about facebook is not privacy. One day, my sister I see she is uploading photos to facebook of her birthday and said to me, “Es de mi cumpleanos son para mis amigas para que las vean por si no fueron”, and my mom said to her, “Niña no estes subiendo fotos aunque sea de tus cumpleaños”, because those pages there are many people who do not know as stalkers or pedophiles, because you never know who is watching or sometimes put personal information in facebook and this is not correct because never know who use this information for kidnap or other things.
The last negative thing about facebook is fights. This is because sometimes my sister or her friends talk bad to another people or make comments or gossip about bad things that did or upload videos to let in ridiculous to be angry and fight with them. In some case when you have boyfriend or girlfriend this pages cause problems in the relationship because them know your password and can enter, and check

Social networking sites allow you to connect with old friends from high school, family that lives far away, in my case, even in another country as missionaries, friends down the street, coworkers, and just about anyone else you can think of. This can make you feel more connected to the world around you. You can keep up with what everyone is doing and accomplishing in their lives very easily through statuses and pictures posted every day. I have met new family members, whether by marriage or by birth, through Facebook who I otherwise have not had the opportunity to meet. One of my uncles, who recently passed away, had an affair about thirty years ago and did not realize he had a son from that affair until his son decided to find his father. Facebook is the only way I have been able to meet my new found cousin and his family. But when you start looking at the downside of social networking, it can make you wonder if it is really worth the cost. There have been many debates on the issues of using these sites for many years, so there have been quite a few downsides brought to the public’s attention such as health issues like anxiety or depression, lower grades for students of all levels, decreased productivity in the workplace, someone being stalked and so forth. Since there are way too many to cover in this paper, I am going to concentrate on three that I feel are some of the most important issues. Some of the issues with social networking sites are identity theft made easier, cyber bullying, which has caused many suicides, and strong face-to-face relationships suffering and being replaced by weaker online relationships.…

Once Facebook was created it opened up people’s minds in different ways to see what’s going around daily. The pros of Facebook are endless to the users. Even if a user is not into world news, or what is going on around the world they can view it if a friend of theirs share a post about it. This attracts the user that does not care to start thinking about how important what is going around in our world is. As it was mentioned earlier, with every positive there is a negative. Facebook allows the user to post whatever they want to post without any limits, unless whomever the post offends reports the post that offended them to the company. However, this creates more hate than there is into the people. How many suicide cases have we heard that where caused by social media cyber bullying. Even though Facebook every day builds more privacy options into the network barely any user uses…

There are many benefits to Facebook. Facebook is the quick, easy way to keep up to date with events that happen every day. Once a person creates an account, they can add their friends and therefore look at the page that is created by that person and see their posts. When a person “posts” something it means that they are writing anything they want for all their friends to see, from song lyrics, to what their plans are for the day, to angry outbursts with a lot of curse words associated. The posts pop on the community wall so a person doesn’t have to go to each individual’s page to see their plans. This feature is beneficial because it allows a friend to discover plans and therefore work with, or around them to be able to see or communicate with that person without having to go through to hassle of keeping in touch every hour or having to send a text to twenty of your friends about what you’re doing that day. Another benefit of Facebook is it allows a person to keep in touch even through long distances. For example, if a person lives across the country, it is difficult to coordinate the time difference, and therefore makes it hard to have phone conversation or text repeatedly back and forth unless it is at a set time that is consensual for both parties. Facebook allows people to keep in touch on each person’s own time through wall posts, and messages, this is…

Many people believe that Facebook is dangerous for users because of the amount of information that can be added on to one’s account. Others feel that this site allows for socialization and is just a way to have fun and keep in touch with others.…

    1. With Facebook, like with any other social networking tools, whatever you choose to post online can never be entirely private. The first negative effect that Facebook can have on your life is, to some capacity, a result of your own doing. Whether of a direct or an indirect action, undesirable information about us can spill beyond the boundaries of chosen privacy settings and end up in the hands of a third party.…

To begin with, social networking is terrible because it is distracting to teenagers. Some teens that have homework to do are sometimes hoarding the computer, social networking instead of doing their homework. When their parents would tell them to do their homework, they’ll say they’ll get to it. Do you think they were actually listening while commenting on their friend’s picture on Facebook? They were probably not. This distracting “obsession” can also have an effect on their English grammar. Some English teachers are disappointed to see some students use the “chat language”, which is commonly used in social networking sites. This includes: lol, btw, brb, ttyl, l8r, etc. Social networking can also lead to the loss of focus in school. According to News Today News, “[N]early half of the five hundred teachers surveyed believe that this [obsession] affects children’s ability to concentrate in class and follow the lessons.” Students can be distracted during a lesson, thinking about that person they sent a friend request to, or if anyone commented on their newly uploaded picture. This “obsession” about social networking is distracting to…

The first limitation is Facebook addiction. Facebook is addictive because everyday people spend more than 3.5 billion minutes on Facebook. Every day, youngsters are always checking their Facebook newsfeed for status updates from their friends when they wake up. They will also check their Facebook for any notifications or private messages. They spend too much time on Facebook to chat with their friends and stalk other people’s posts which cause them not to be able to concentrate on their study. Social Networking sites serve many purposes for its users during their daily lives. It helps people re-connect with those in which they have lost contact, whether it is after High school when your fellow classmates are dispersed around the country to different Colleges and jobs; to your aunt and uncle from Missouri that you have never met before. To your ex-girlfriend who moved away and you would like to re-kindle that relationship with. Over in Egypt they even refer to their revolution to overthrow their dictator, the “Facebook Revolution.” They concocted all of their protests and such over Facebook via private groups and even some public Facebook groups.
