October 22, 2013 Bullying is a serious problem in our schools, and a lot of focus is given to kids who suffer from being bullied. We should also consider why children become bullies. I believe that children become bullies because of the way they are treated at home by their family members. The place where bullying builds its foundation is at home around family members that are not warm and loving in which feelings aren’t shared because of this children aren’t able to express the way they feel and leads them into becoming bullies. For that reason, parents who lack supervision of their children and don’t pay much attention to them don’t realize that their kids are becoming bullies and harming the lives of other children around them. Furthermore, parents who model the behaviors of bullying are putting their kids at risk because they want to be like their parents and think is normal behavior to scream, judge, and tease the other kids that are around them. Brothers and sister also play a big role on bullying because they are the ones that mostly teach the little ones everything. So if a brother or sister is a bully the younger sibling might turn into a bully themselves because they want to be just like their brother or sister and impressive them. In conclusion, parents should always be on the lookout for the way they act around their children at home making sure that they act with good attitude and have good behavior. Parents should always be very loving and caring towards their children and ask them how their feeling and if everything is going good in school and if anything makes them feel uncomfortable. Parents should also reassure their children that they can always come to them if they ever need anything that way they feel that their parents actually do care about.
