A child goes through many changes during adolescence. Arguments and disagreements surface while playing with friends. Teasing and fighting may also arise in these kinds of situation. But this is not the real deal.

Teasing, fighting, and arguments are all part of middle and high school. The situation gets bad when it takes a wrong turn. Like extreme teasing, physical abuse or intentionally trying to threaten the weaker child. It is called as bullying if actions against a person or group are repeated over and again with an intention to hurt them emotionally or physically. It can be verbal, physical or even psychological. It can range from calling names to spreading rumours or even stealing possessions of the victim.

Bullying is seen all over the world and in all sections of society (work,school and home). It might start at an age as early as preschool and might intensify in the transitional adolescent years. There can be various reasons behind this kind of behavior. Often the victim is shy and weak as compared to a bully.

Bullying is a serious matter and should be strongly dealt with. Even if the child has not yet faced any such situation it is important to explain him such prevalent behaviors in the society and ways to tackle it. If left unattended, this childhood problem can have serious effects on the personality of the child throughout his life. This explains the situation and measures should be taken to prevent this prior to it becoming a serious
