Aims and Objectivies
The aims and objectivies of the staff performance review are to :
Discuss and identify staff strengths and weakness
Determine what skills and/or knowledge the employee needs in order to perform the job more effectively
Determine the next suitable assignment or activity for personal and professional development
Maintain and increase job satisfaction
Provide support for career advancement.
1.0 Individual Performance and Development Plan
To be able to identify the area require for improvement, the manager and employee will first have to complete the Individual Performance and Development plan. This plan includes:
1.1 Position Description
1.2 Goal/objective setting
1.3 The completed Individual Performance and Development plan will be the basis of discussions for the second and subsequent reviews
1.4 Based on the Plan, the manager will also provide regular feedback on the employee’s progress. (which can be achieved by variety ways eg reports, observation)
2.0 Staff consultation and communication
All staff are required to communicate and discuss any areas that they feel require attention with their immediate supervisor
2.1 Types of communication
There is a few ways that we can communicate formal and informal but in a class of informal (eg a chat) then it is very important that after the discussion if there is any changes to the requirement or expectation it is always follow up with at least a email to formalize the information.
Some of the formal communications are:
Emails
Memo
Newsletters
Meetings
2.2 When communicating
As there are different ways in which the staff can communicate it is very important to remember a few points:
No personal attack
All feedbacks should be constructive
