Bethany Hamilton has gotten bit by a 15- foot tiger shark , can't get back in the ocean. Bethany wants to get back in the water but she can't because of her bit off arm , If Bethany gets back in the water her arm wouldn't heal properly , and the arm would also get infected . Bethany was sitting down on top of the hospital bed with only one arm , when she asked the doctors “ when i can i get back in the water ?” as they explained to Bethany why , Bethany was saying to her ‘’ I’m going to be back floating\ on top of a surfboard by thanksgiving’’.

Less than a month after Bethany attack she has gotten back in the water the day of Thanksgiving. As Bethany is falling off the surfboard , she doesn’t care about the arm not there she’s still going to try . Bethany kept struggling and struggling with everything until she finally got how to balance herself on the board without falling . Bethany caught a wave one more time before leaving when all of a sudden she got it !
Now Bethany Hamilton is back and better ! Bethany astounded everyone by winning the National Championship with a chance of first place. Bethany is one of the world's best women surfers today ! Bethany is an elite surfer , everywhere she goes people know her as “ the girl that hot her bitten off by a shark” . People still cheer her on as they see her Bethany Hamilton is a strong, elite , confident young
