The True Story Of Bethany Hamilton
This book was based off the true story of Bethany Hamilton. Hamilton was a teenage girl who lived in Hawaii, there she was an avid surfer. On Halloween day Hamilton traveled to the beach to continue to surf, when an awful event took place. There she was bit by a shark and lost her arm up to the shoulder. The book continued with her remarkable recovery and told how she came back and continued to surf. She became an extraordinary person and inspires many still today as she continues her journey surfing. This was an inspirational and interesting book.

I would add another character to the story. I would add a character named
Emma, she would be Bethany Hamilton’s sister. Though Hamilton had two brothers in the story it would have been an interesting

Through her story of faith, persistence, and confidence, Bethany Hamilton has illustrated to millions how to strive for the seemingly unachievable. At the mere age of thirteen, Hamilton experienced something life changing: having an arm bitten off by a shark while surfing. Surfing had always meant the world to Bethany, in fact, her career as a surfer was primarily initiated because of her parents (Hamilton 7). From the moment Hamilton reaches the board, an inexplicable connection sparks. Bethany said “I’ve tried to explain why I feel the way I do and it's impossible. Only surfers get it: the rush, the addiction, the way it stirs your heart, plays with your head, and tortures your body (Hamilton 119) .” Although at times there were downsides, being the youngest of three and the only girl had its benefits.
