Belonging: A Short Story
It has been just a few hours, but it was harsh to stay without any food or water. And I arrived in front of the hole when he day became night. Although I was dying, I felt like lying down for a few minutes on the desert land. The stars in the sky was magnificent bright and dazzling. I wanted to stay more, because of the star; I had to leave for at least one more chance to go back to home. I worried about my family and friends and others, I left the house more than a week and now, I might couldn’t go back to my own belonging world. Thus, I need to get into the wormhole.
I laid down inside of the capsule, I had to save more my energy, I was thinking that this would be the last chance, the last chance to go back to home. I slowly closed my eyes,

And as I did it in the capsule, I once slept again.
And again, I continued to dream about my own belonging world. I was still in the car with Clark, we camped on the mountain, and drove back to my house. But, as I went inside of my house, some sucking feelings struck me again, and I woke up.
The morning came so fast, I decided to hike around for a while. I saw nothing similar to any signs of civilization, I couldn’t find any signs of man civilization. It was quite sad that there are no people living on this living planet. But in other side, it seemed like pretty nice to not to have any civilization for nature.
However, as I walk through the trees, I’ve found some signs of civilization, and it seemed like really high and well developed civilization; there wasn’t any people who live here and stay here. Somehow, people wasn’t here anymore, the civilization was just crashing and reshaping by nature.
I could’ve stay longer in this world, but I did want to, my craving by going back to home was greater than my curiosity. By thinking about the days that I’d spend, I almost left about two weeks. It was long enough to think that I’m dead, I started to worry about my surroundings. People, especially my mom could think that I’m dead by now, and as well as my friend Clark too. My mind was messy, I couldn’t clean it up; It became messy again by the time it is

Why me? I couldn’t even make a point out of that voyage.” I said.
“Because we chose you to do it, and you’ll know someday, the point of this voyage. Others might could not know the message for few weeks, months, years, or maybe decade. And there is no rush to do it.” they said.
“But how could…” I said
“There is some part of memory that doesn’t really need for the message, thus we need to remove it.” they said
“What do you mean? I don’t really getting all these.” I said
“Don’t need to, from now on, it is our job, your role is all over. It wouldn’t be so nice to wake up with sleeping just few hours.” they said. I couldn’t understand them, I was in the big confusion.
“The time on here and your world has huge difference, so out there, you only spent a few minutes, less than a hour for this trip. Nothing will going to be problem.” they said. And suddenly I fell into the capsule and I got so tired, I couldn’t do anything except sleeping, and then my eyes were getting closed….

The morning has arrived, I had a dream about some different worlds and other creatures and some unknown people. But I felt that the dream like my memory, it was like deja vu. And the strange thing was that I had no memory of last night, my memory was forgotten after dinner. I couldn’t remember how I slept, and I was pretty sure that I left the house among the

I woke with the seal of my capsule opening and the temperature inside increasing The ice around me melting. It has been 50 years since China nuked us across the map. The year was 2025 U.S and China had been locked in war 7 years before they bombed us. I try not to think that it’s my fault as I’m the one who had killed the top power of China who had already been on the brink of nuking us already, it’s hard to think that it’s not my fault I tell myself I’m the one who pushed it over the edge. I wake up because of the blinding light outside .The sun truly comes out like thunder I say to myself ,each sunrise lasts only a few seconds ,but in that time you see at least eight different bands of color come and go ,from a brilliant red to the brightest and deepest blue. I see sixteen sunrises everyday here in space, but no sunrise or sunset is ever the same. I am still overwhelmed by the fact that I am one of the people who have been to space. I summon up that time when I was a kid a gazing at the stars ,wondering the beauty of the twinkling light in the black sky, I never knew that someday I will be between the stars staring at the planet in which I was born in. I will never forget my first view of the earth; it was of atolls and clouds. Close to the window I could see that this pacific scene in motion was rimmed by the great curved limb of the earth. I held my breath, but something was missing. Here was a tremendous visual sight, but viewed in silence. There was no grand music accompaniment, no triumphant or symphony. I felt surprisingly unfulfilled…

When’s the last time you dreamed? In fact, the last time sleep occurred is the correct answer. Most people believe that they don’t dream, only because these individuals can’t recall dreaming as an event. In J. Allan Hobson’s book, Dreaming, it explores how dreaming is influenced and how it affects the individual, how dreaming is associated with REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep and the importance of it, and also why sleep is so essential for human beings and other mammals to experience. Sleep is correlated with dreaming, making dreaming a phenomenon essential to living.…

On the plane everything felt normal, like any other trip, I am used to traveling, but never like this. Even though the flight was short it felt like a nerve racking eternity of uncertainty, I couldn’t get a wink of sleep. I was sure I would break down sometime on the plane, if not then maybe once we got there and everything stopped feeling like a dream and became real but that moment never came. We went almost immediately to the hospital and although I ran scenario after scenario in my mind of what it would be like, I had no idea what to expect. My Papahualo’s lungs were filled with…

As I climbed up the ladder to enter the cock pit I would lay in for the next day I was looking around to see if my parents and friends where here to see me off but they weren’t which mad me hurt deeply inside. I entered the cockpit and laid in my chair checking all my controls ready for launch. I closed my eyes & cleared my mind, when I zoned back in I heard the countdown “10, 9, 8, 7...” At this point I was really anxious and scared. All of a sudden I felt the thrust and the power of the rockets, at this point there was really know time to turn back as I kept shooting up I felt nervous of what was going to happen once I left the earth’s atmosphere. I closed my eyes and in a matter of time I heard the alarm coming from the cock pit telling me that it was time to prepare for the landing, at this point I felt joy, excitement, why wouldn’t I ?, I was going to be the first person in mankind history to step foot on mars. I opened the bay doors not knowing what it would look like outside. It was just…

My fingers which were slender and flimsy started fidgeting with the buttons on the dashboard. Almost forty seconds passed, which was much longer for a pilot with 5 years of experience, to eject her seat off from the airplane. My mind was in a complete daze and was in a state of consternation. I was about to die, and I knew it. The scene was exactly how you could imagine it in the movies- the plane swaying side to side without proper control, a transient rain of burning, hot, red meteors flying from the sky which was as black as coal and the helpless pilot, trying to find her way out. I was definitely going to hurl out my lunch and my palms were drenched in sweat. At that instant moment, the thought of everyone and everything I loved flashed right in front of my brown, beady eyes.…

My internal organs thumped against my chest as I dragged my bag along the carpet floor and into the aisle. As I walked into the long hall I glanced up and noticed the sign telling me I could get on. My entire body could barely hold itself together with the hope of great dreams-come-true event about to take place I said to myself “I’ll soon be in the air.” I slowed my pace to further enjoy what was happening. Swarms of people walked around me as I treasured knowing that one of my lifetime goals was now surely going to occur. The excitement and adrenaline running through my veins could have killed a horse. Not being able to stand such self-torture. I hurried to my pace to what was almost a jog, until I had caught up with the unfortunately boring group that I was, as I felt universally bound to. I came to a bend in the tunnel where I saw through the glass window, that which before entering gave no hint of existence. “I’ll soon be in the air.”…
