Band of mobile phones
Dear Mr Thomes I take this opportunity to introduce myself as ......... I am studying in Year ....I have been thinking for a while now about how we could win our school reputation back, how we could have our names in the papers again. Can you remember back in those days when we use to be in the first pages of the papers, it used to say “Top ten schools with the best uses of modern technology!” And our name used to be in the top three, but now we aren’t even in the top 50’s list.
And that is embarrassing for the school that used to be in the top 3.
If you still don’t know what I am talking about, I am talking about how band of mobile phones has destroyed our school’s reputation. Therefore, with due respect to the school’s rule, I would like to put forward my arguments why we should be allowed to carry the mobile phones to school.
First and the most important: not being able to call or receive our parents call in an emergency.
Last month, a boy was sitting in a science lesson when his mobile phone rang. The teacher was fuming and cursed the uses of ‘these modern toys.’ The phone was taken away from the boy and was confiscated. If only the teacher had waited a few valuable seconds. The boy was me and the text was; ‘meet me outside the school gate now. Your dad has had an accident. We are going to hospital quick! Love mum.’
Next, I thing with the help of mobile phone there would be no need of diary because most of them have calendar and note’s page.
Internet in phones for research for lessons such as science, history geography etc. this list of reasons can go on forever I think it will be enough to convince you. One small action like this can make a big difference to our school student and our schools reputation. That is why I am requesting you to let students carry their cell phones to school. As these are the opinions of a section of my class, I am sure if we do a survey there will be more like minded people around the whole school who would like

There is more than one side to the debate about cell phone availability during school. One claim is that students should be allowed to have their phones on them and use their cell phones during appropriate times. In the article, the authors provide details about how there are numerous reasons why cell phones should be allowed during school. Students should be allowed access to cell phones, because if they are responsible enough to be going off to college in a year or so, they should be responsible enough to have a cell phone on them and use it wisely (George and Cook). Another reason why cell phones should be allowed in school is because otherwise it can create a divide between the students and the teachers. Students are so invested in their phones, so if a teacher…

When New York City installed metal detectors in random schools, over 800 phones were taken away from students (important idea # 2). Scaccia says the distraction that phones provide is one reason students fail at the end of the term (important idea # 3). Parents want their children to be allowed to keep the phones to use in an emergency (important idea # 4). But Scaccia, a teacher, says that safety concerns are not reason enough to allow them in classrooms, since students are mostly not using them to contact their parents anyway (important idea # 5). On the one hand, I agree with Scaccia that cell phones are mostly a distraction in the classroom. On the other hand, we live in dangerous times, and I do think the parents have a point that cell phones are necessary in an emergency (Thesis mentioning the two important ideas that the author plans to discuss in their body…

Cell phones may be a very useful tool in school because they contain multiple uses including a camera, a messaging system, a calculator, and even a web browser on some models. This may sound like a good suggestion to have one in school, but allowing cell phones in school is not a good idea. Many students will abuse their cell phones abilities like texting in class which will distract the student and prevent the student from learning. Therefore, cell phones should not be allowed in school because it will lure the student to use it and it will cause many problems for the student and the teacher.…

April frawley Birdwll insists that the problem of using cell phone seems to be growing, and some people lose a relationship or a job due to the cell phones. However, his opinion is biased. He only focuses on the problem of cell phone. Actually, cell phones bring people more benefits than problems. Children using cell phones can make more friends than those don not use. Cell phone is a tool for communication with each other. By using cell phones, children can contact with their fiends no matter what time is or where they are located. The author writes “the most shocking figure was that seven percent said the use of mobile phones had caused them to lose a relationship or a job.” That is totally wrong. Another reason cell phones should not be banned in classrooms is because students can use them as a reminder or planner. Generally, cell phones have a calendar built in the device. In my biology class, I have a unit 5 test, unit portfolio assessment and a lab report due all on different days; I used my calendar app in my cell phone to be a reminder. Therefore, cell phones can remind me that I have assignments and tests coming up. This shows that a cell phone can benefit students in the classrooms.…

We were on our way into Manhattan for our monthly shopping trip to Wal-Mart. I was riding in the backseat as always, being the youngest. My oldest sister, Nicole, was in a state of the utmost euphoria, because today was the day she got her first cellphone. My parents made her a promise that if she was getting good grades they would buy her a cellphone her freshman year of high school. She would be the first one of her friends to get one, and she was ready to brag about it; however, my parents had some stipulations. The phone would stay at home during the school day as not to tempt her to text in class, the phone would not be used during family activities or dinner, and the phone would stay off until homework was complete. Nicole reluctantly agreed to all the restrictions and she picked out the prized phone. Unlike then, today the stipulations set by my parents are obsolete. All of the rules have become commonplace in society and are accepted by the majority of the nation. Cellphones have piloted society into a fallacy leading our youth into problems with school, safety, and communication, which has the potential to destroy personal relationships and etiquette in modern society.…
