I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris
Chapter 1: Beyond what feels good, back to what is good
In a relationship doing foolishness is all part of the game that everyone plays. I have known many teenagers at my age even younger than me thinks that having a relationship or so called boyfriend/girlfriend makes them proud for themselves. Not knowing you violated God’s order because of your thinking, your values and you desire to others. Even we grew up in a Christian way may still not be enough to be good as what God wants you to be. You still need a lot of learnings but it is important to start changes to your lifestyle and attitude toward others. We should forget old way of living. We should not live for ourselves, we should live for God and for the good of others.
You should treat a person what is in his or her best interest. To care for others when there’s nothing to expect in return. To show love to a person with purity and holiness because it pleases God and it is important that our love for others be shaped by God’s love for us . Do not love a person as you wanted instead of what God’s wanted. You will find true peace and joy if you change your attitude towards the goodness and you will find that God has something better in store for you.
Asking for forgiveness is the best thing you can do because God is so forgiving. As what God’s amazing love for us at the cross, our sins have been forgiven. Remember these… At the end of out lives, we would not answer to everyone… We’ll answer to GOD.

Chapter 2: The Joy of Intimacy is the Reward of Commitment
Joshua Harris stated that the fundamental problem with relationships today is that we’ve disconnected romance and Commitment.
It’s true that sometimes we’re starting what we can’t finish, we’re pursuing romance while not ready for commitment. Some people specially teenagers are dating because they want to enjoy the company of others. But in most

Our love for others is usually based on how they treat us, and what they do for us. Even though we could do nothing for God, He still loved us with no doubt. God has created in us feelings, and a heart. In the book Praxis, they say that giving your heart to Jesus is like jumping into the lap of a parent and looking to them for guidance. When you give God your heart, you are trusting Him with your life, emotions, feelings, and you are trusting Him to guide your life in the right direction. In my life, I try to love the people around me the best way I can because I know I would want the same from them. I try to take what I learn from God’s Word and what He says about love and how we should use it and use it in my life to the best of my ability. Knowing that God has endless love for me, and how He says we should love our neighbor’s as we love ourselves is a constant reminder for me to be kind to others, and give them love and help whenever they need…

I also found that autonomy-connection in relationships has 5 different types of tensions, including concerns about getting involved and getting to know one's partner, dating others, trade-offs between the relationship and other activities, fairness and tolerance, and commitment. Findings highlight the ways in which gradual quantitative changes in romantic connection may come about through a process of cumulative…

My most valued ethical code is obeying God’s world as a Christian. God word to me is following the Ten Commandments in the bible. Some principles in the bible that I base my ethical standards on are, to love God with all my might. I believe that this is important to me as a Christian; I know that by loving God he will provide a good life for me and my family. I also think that by obeying God’s commandments he will open up a pathway of success. Some ways that I will love God with all my might is by living an honest life, being good to others and going to church on a weekly basis. In the bible, God states that by obeying his word he will be just and fair to me. This believe is not only based on my religious principles but culturally I was brought about to believe and follow the word of God.…

Dating is a term that carries with it a sense of seriousness and commitment. The concept of traditional dating is not as much desirable among college students. College is their time of freedom, to go out and meet as many people as possible. Teenagers rarely want to have the stress or worry of being tied down in a relationship while exploring the college world.
