a day at the beach
A day at beach
Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressures and worries of life. There is always that one spot that can soothe all your problems and troubles in times of stress. For me, the beach is the ultimate cure to all of my problems. While I am there, all of my obligations are suddenly erased.

The day was warm and muggy; it was the perfect weather to go to the beach. The water was clear and a rich deep blue in color. Not a patch of seaweed in sight. The fine white sand is burning your feet as you hear the sound of the waves crashing and the cool sea breeze brushing by. I take a deep breath of fresh air and look at the surrounding of people soaking in the sun waiting to get in the water. I slapped on the sunscreen and packed up my gear and ran towards the water, little kids were building sandcastles and having sand fights. I dogged through them and at last I was running through the shallows of the water getting nearer to the in coming wave. I dove straight through the dumping wave, the cool water rushing down my body. I popped back up to the surface, relived that I was finally out of the warm weather and cooled off by the beautiful seawater.

Later, my friends decided to join me and we played volleyball in the sand. Everyone brought snacks and later that night we also had a barbeque. After a while, we swam in the sea, which was cool and pleasant. I saw sailing boats in the distance and fishermen busy with their catch. Then we sat on the beach and ate sandwiches, cookies, peanuts and fruit followed by iced drinks.
I love going to the beach in summer. It was my favorite part about this season. I really enjoyed my day and night spent there. I can’t wait to go back again next week after my midterms.

It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.…

Another fun thing we did at that river was go rafting it was very terrifying but also fun. Overall it was very fun spending time with my family and friends.…

A sharp pain of fear pierced my heart as the prospect of I might have to leave but I never wanted to leave this paradise and return to my old life. The waves in the distance were like white creases on a vast bale of velvet. The sea was like a rippling blanket of liquid gems of green and blue. I found myself pondering the idea, maybe this today would the day I see a mermaid’s emerge from the sea. What emerges from the sea startled me; I could see dolphins flipping into the air like crackling popcorn. Their bodies flashed beneath the sun rays in steel-grey and I could almost touch their gleefulness. It was a skin-tingling experience to witness these amazing creatures in their sea-dance. Swaying in the wind, was a yellow flag; letting me know that the water was moderate but safe to enter. Once I could see the sand I removed my shoes and socks and prepared to feel the warmth of the sand between my toes. Warm, grainy sand hid between my toes and cling to my feet as I made my way to the water. Using the sound of the waves as company, I meandered along the shore. I was thinking of a way to embrace my assignment; I had to spend time alone. It was time for me to appreciate doing nothing.…

We continued to drive for about thirty more minutes, and I soon realized that we were getting close to the beach. I could smell the salt in the cool breeze of air from my window. It was mixed with the sweet fragrance of food from the boardwalk. When we arrived at our destination, my father checked us into our rooms at the Silver Leaf Resort. I really wasn’t paying too much attention to my surroundings, because I was bursting with excitement wanting to go to the beach. I begged my mother and father till I turned blue saying “please can we go to the beach now.” “Pretty please with sure on top.” My father just looked at me with that solemn face he always has and said “yes, baby girl we can unpack later.” “Now let’s head to the beach.” I screamed like a banshee with excitement and ran to the room and changed into my swim wear. I grabbed my maroon beach towel with my pale and shovel, and my mini purse that contained my shades, bubbles, and sun screen.…

We stayed in the same house almost every time we went. The beach was in walking distance from the house and there was a small shower outside to wash off any sand you have left on you. There was a pool in the back. When we weren't at the beach we were in the pool. I loved that beach so much, even though we never go to it anymore. The long grass along a wooden bridge leading you to the beach, the calm waves, the seagulls always trying to take your food. There was almost never a boring time when we were there. As soon as we got to the beach my brother and I would kick off our flip flops and ran across the burning hot sand and jump into the water. My grandpa would set up a huge umbrella over the towels my mom had laid out. The waves would crash right…

The beach is a beautiful scene of peace and tranquility. Every moment is a different scene. As I sit in my chair I can see all the sights of summer; children building sand castles along the ocean's edge, to my right I observe an elderly couple enjoying a good book. The waves crash into one another, the breeze blowing from the tide, the smell of salty ocean, and the sticky air…

As I walk down the narrow, brown, rickety bridge that leads to the ocean my heart begins to race in anticipation of reaching the fascinating sight. I’m suddenly surrounded by sand that is white and pure as snow. I walk at a turtle’s speed absorbing this overwhelming beauty that encircles me. The sky is the brightest blue I’ve ever seen, so bright that it almost seems as if it is from an animated movie and not real life itself. Fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before slowly fade away into thin air and the crystal clear waves sparkle like diamonds. The water is never-ending. I see heaps of seagulls flying around the sky, white and grey and full of spirit. As a gust of wind runs through my long, dark, brown hair I look to the right to see two elegant dolphins leap from the deep blue sea and dive back in as if saying hello to the gorgeous, heavenly day.…
