The Beach Research Paper
In another dark twisted nightmare I find myself running through the darkness, I stretch out my hands and I can feel the wall of a tunnel and in the distance I can see a faint shimmer of light my heart jumps at the prospect of escaping this darkness.
When I finally reach the end, I came to a dark beach; the sky was like a curtain of silk in the sky: The sky sheds its color from dark misty indigo to an illuminated shimmering blue sky. Revealing a beautiful beach paradise mostly comprise of endless body of clear water. Seeing the fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before they slowly fainted away into thin air.

The blazing light pierced through the cold and gave me an immediate boost of excitement. The sun poked its way above the horizon as if scared to shed some light. The sun worked his way up in the sky, distributing its power to everything in its sight. The smell of the salty sea tingled my nose as I breathed in a breath of fresh air. The salty breeze of the sea is the first thing that pierces my senses, I can smell and taste the salt of the beach feeling as it stuck is in my mouth I started to search

A sharp pain of fear pierced my heart as the prospect of I might have to leave but I never wanted to leave this paradise and return to my old life. The waves in the distance were like white creases on a vast bale of velvet. The sea was like a rippling blanket of liquid gems of green and blue. I found myself pondering the idea, maybe this today would the day I see a mermaid’s emerge from the sea. What emerges from the sea startled me; I could see dolphins flipping into the air like crackling popcorn. Their bodies flashed beneath the sun rays in steel-grey and I could almost touch their gleefulness. It was a skin-tingling experience to witness these amazing creatures in their sea-dance. It brought the type excitement to my heart at I haven’t felt in

As I waltzed on the beach, squishing down the hot buttery-yellow sand that gave off the hot sensation of a burning grill sizzling my feet, I was immediately taken by the scent of freshly sliced fruits and freshly picked flowers. As you move along, brightly colored fruit stalls filled the sidewalks from which fresh fruit is cut. From a fruit stand, the scent travelled all across the beach with the help of the cool breeze which allowed the scent to fill the air. With my eyes closed, I breathed in the ocean bliss that paraded the beach. As I turn towards the sea, I was amazed. It was a deep blue in some areas but in others a glistening turquoise green. As I made my way towards the water as it laps over each time it reaches to the shore, overhead I heard the frantic screech of seagulls like a sharp knife dragged along a glass. As you dive into the deep blue ocean you can feel and taste the chilly, cool and refreshing water surrounding your body as chills ran down my back. Further from the beach there was a volcano that looked like a giant firework to…

Crushing violently against the slick and glimmering rocks that intermittently align the picturesque shore, the wonderfully blue velvet waves can be raucously heard from thousands of yards away. Jagged-edged and slippery, the mountains of bordering boulders act like the Great Wall of China, providing a barrier against the thrashing surf. The transparent sea seems to threaten passersby who dare to boldly venture closer, as the unfolding currents roll forward with intimidation. Reckless and consistent, the colossal whitecaps dance uncontrollably, as if they are harmoniously following to the thrashing beat of a tribal drum of a local oceanfront Hawaiian shack positioned nearby. Miles down and surrounding neighboring islands, the aggressive tide converts gradually into a calm and tranquil flow that peacefully spills onto the sand covered coastline. At these points, the flawless cerulean ocean quietly provides scarce tourists and daily natives with the pleasant opportunity to virtually complete solitude. Serene and relaxed, the flawless water eagerly invites citizens to explore its diverse marine life which it proudly maintains. The beach’s gritty sand is as warm as a fresh batch of Grandma’s homemade baked chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. Delicately running my bored hands through the grainy particles, I can feel the brittle fragments trapping themselves in my neatly groomed nails, inevitably getting stuck for the next couple days. Perfectly warm, the blinding sun gracefully embraces the minor island with its elegantly resounding rays while the various screechy seagulls impatiently soar past with a ravenous look in their beady eyes. Periodically a dainty and feathery cirrus cloud will appear in the otherwise spotless sky, merely enhancing the scenic atmosphere with more texture. The sky blue backdrop is deep turquoise eyes that swiftly penetrate my soul as I passionately stare into the sensual gaze of my beloved. With the bitter taste of salt…

While sitting at the shoreline I am reminded why the beach is my peaceful spot, with the screeching sounds of seagulls scurrying about for food along the shore line, the smell of barbeque cooking, loud music coming from the jeeps passing by, and families coming together. Being relaxed and at peace I allow myself to drift off for a peaceful nap. I am soon awoken by the tide coming in, I open my eyes, and to my surprise, I see the setting sun hanging in the sky like a red-orange balloon off in the distance. I find myself alone on the beach. The surf has ceased to crash on the shores, the placid waves gently roll onto the sand. The sky is transformed into a colorful horizon; filled with endless streams of purple and…

Upon arriving along the shore, the oceans many qualities enlightened my senses. Immediately, I felt the cool ocean breeze caressing my skin. Driving along the sandy beach, I was awestricken by the suns brilliant fire as it as extinguished by the oceans horizon. Off in the distance the oceans waves marched in unison towards the shore. Getting out of the car, the sight of fires illuminated the crowds of beach patrons from a far. After all, beaches are famous for their bonfires at nightfall. The distinct smell of burning paper and wood filled the air. We found a secluded spot with a vast open space containing a fire pit; immediately we started our bonfire. Due to continuous resistance from the wind, starting our fire was a grueling endeavor. After a long and perilous battle with the wind, we finally ignited the fire. At first, the smoke and heat were dense enough to make breathing and seeing difficult, but we soon adjusted. With my eyes closed, I felt a soothing sensation surge through my body as the warmth of the fire countered the bitter chill of the night. For that brief moment, that crackling sound of the burning fire wood was all that…

The sea is breathtaking as the golden sun slowly disappears into the horizon. The now calm water sparkles brightly and the warm light gradually decreases, making the illuminated parts stand out. The air smells of salt even from the height and the temperature drops quickly. The sunset is a beautiful moment, the clouds lighting up as though on fire. The trees sway in the refreshing breeze even the birds fly to the nests, cawing softly to bid their friends goodnight. The red light of the evening sky is visible until the sun is completely gone from the picture.…

I ran outside to find one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen. The long stretch of sand was pure white and sparkled in the sun as if it had glitter mixed in with it. It almost looked like snow. The sand was hot on my feet as I walked down the beach to the water. I could hear it squeak a little with every foot step. As I…

Earlier that day, my family and I took a serene walk down the pier. We saw fishermen catching fish and people getting ready to go fishing in a boat. When we got back to our petite cabin, we prepared to go frolic at the beach. At the beach, my brother and I went swimming. The massive waves were uncommon at Capitola, so we were cheerful we got to swim in the immense waves. After a terrific ten to fifteen minutes of…

Quickly turning the corner, I strode down the alleyway and escaped the pandemonium of the city. The alley was dark and had an eerie look. Old vines climbed up the sides of tall apartment buildings and trash was strewn across the ground. I looked to the ground and saw a dated coca-cola bottle whose label was half gone and the glass was almost stained black. Slowly I bent down and picked up the bottle and began weighing it my hand and looking it over. Still capped and full but it did not seem to be liquid any longer. I continued walking down the alleyway, all the while flipping the glass bottle in my hand. It mesmerized me and I carried on like this for several minutes unaware of the world around me. Out the corner of my eye I noticed a stray cat pouncing on his prey. In that moment, the bottle dropped to the ground and…

What is a sediment? As Tom Garrison, a science professor, defines sediment "particles of organic or inorganic matter that accumulate in a loose, unconsolidated form." (Marine Science 100pg. 47). The classification of sediments may be put in their source which pertain to be terrigenous, biogenous, hydrogenous, and cosmogenous. Each one of the sediment sources contains a different mineral composition and may be found at different places in the ocean or beach. Specifically, terrigenous sediments which "originate on the contientes or islands from erosion, or volcanic eruptions, and blown dust." (Oceanography pg.143) pertain to be "the most abundant"(Oceanography pg.134) in the beach where the sand is all the way the shelf.…

As the day was coming to an end me and my men decided to head back to our ship with the hope tomorrow we would figure out the way back home. We reached the beach, the night compared to the blackest of satin flowing along the sky and smothering its host in pure darkness. Now the complete opposite of the morning, the air was heavy and humid, making it hard to breathe and the beauty of the area dissipated and was left…

The path was familiar, so despite the growing darkness, I could make my way through. I skipped over every rock, hopped over every puddle, and maneuvered my way through the low swinging branches of the great white oaks that lined the right side of the street. Living in a small town like Duren had its perks: there weren’t many people to hide your business from, you could walk out in the middle of the street at 2 AM without any concern, and the best part, you could look up and find a night sky filled with over a million stars. I looked up as I continued to walk straight ahead – the stars seemed to be brighter than usual that night. They danced in a melodic pattern across the black canvas and smiled upon those who wistfully sent up their wishes towards them. I was lost in a trance - the ethereal beauty of the sky had my full attention, as I wistfully longed to float away and become one with the…

My mind was overwhelmed by the drastic change in surroundings I was experiencing. My delicate lips were being run-down by the dry and overwhelming heat of California. The sun was also constantly beating against my skin which gave it an amazing tan. Even though I was used to heat, I was not accustomed to such dry conditions that California had set for me. Yet the view that my eyes glazed upon was something I have never witnessed before. The clashing of the midnight blue waves against the grainy sand and the velvet sun…

I could hear the endless, turbulent clatter of the rain as the wind howled like a pack wolfs .Tears rolled down my smooth, nectary, and soft cheeks. I struggled to push myself, the pain was immense, and it blistered throughout my body. I walked aimlessly. Every step I took echoed vigorously throughout the hallway.
