Personal Narrative: My Beach In Capitola, California

Good Essays
It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother. Earlier that day, my family and I took a serene walk down the pier. We saw fishermen catching fish and people getting ready to go fishing in a boat. When we got back to our petite cabin, we prepared to go frolic at the beach. At the beach, my brother and I went swimming. The massive waves were uncommon at Capitola, so we were cheerful we got to swim in the immense waves. After a terrific ten to fifteen minutes of …show more content…
Back by our little beach camp, my siblings and I built a sand village. I traced out in massive words, Sand City. My brother and sister created sand castles inside the small sand village. I was very delighted with my work and decided to go back into the ocean. All was well until I somehow wiped out again. I found it hilarious, but still got out of the water. My brother and I chose to play volleyball at the nets. Passing around was very enjoyable, but when we returned to the rest of our family, we got ready to return to the cabin. Walking back to the cabin, I recalled all of the pleasurable moments that occurred that day. On the peaceful walk back, we got ice cream, which I was very pleased with. That was a perfect day of fun, good laughs, and of course, the tranquil scene of the beautiful beach. I was delighted when I got back to the cabin and couldn’t wait for what the next day had to

When we were in Florida we decided to go to Panama City, Beach. On the way there we drove past the snow like sand. When we got there the cotton ball like clouds in the bright and sunny sky, the aquamarine sea and the golden brown sand is all I saw when I walked onto the beach of Panama City. It was so beautiful. Maria, my sister Deanna, my brother Michael, my mom, and I went to set our stuff up on the beach. We took our shoes off and let the burning hot sand warm our feet. We buried Michael up to his head in the golden brown sand. Many people were swimming and surfing, we went swimming for a bit. The water was freezing cold like icicles, but felt really good at the same time. The bottom of the ocean you could feel sand crabs, and all of the shells both broken and not broken. We were having so much fun, but then it started to rain cats and dogs. So we got out of the water and grabbed our…

Later that morning, in the sunlit dining hall, breakfast was being severed. My group sat at the table we sat at the night before. As I started to eat my tater-tots , the events from yesterday filled my mind. My group went snorkeling, both day and night, I could still feel the cold water soak my wetsuit. I remembered that Mr. Lacey, our principal, announced that the school would be leaving today because of a storm. I was disappointed because I payed for three days instead of two,but at least I was having fun.…

As we walked off the plane we experienced the feeling of the warm tropical weather. It was muggy and we could see all around the lush green vegetation. Our transportation into the city was just a few minutes. We made plans to find our rooms and jump into our bathing suits. The pool looked very inviting. We had been traveling for many days and this was our first day where nothing else was planned and we had the chance to relax.…

The beach’s ambience was relaxing yet hectic. Parents were lying on their large beach towels, soaking in the sun such as a sponge would absorb water. All the while, their young children were splashing and running through the froth of the waves. Screams were constant as the stomping of sand castles aroused temper tantrums from the hard working…

As I stroll along I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I am taken in by the calming atmosphere that encircles me. I close my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. I am comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves suppressing all of my worries. I look into the cloudless blue sky and see the perfection of life. I often want to be like a seagull, drifting endlessly in the wind without a care in the world. As I sit in my chair I can see all the sights of summer. Children building sandcastles along the ocean’s edge, to my right I observe an elderly couple indulged in a good book. I am soon at the point where my skin can no longer stand the ruthless heat of the blazing summer sun. I run as fast as my feet can carry me toward what my body sees as a endless pool of crystal blue water. I dive into the crashing waves head first. The shock of the frigid water takes my breath away leaving me momentarily stunned. However I quickly recover as my body adjusts to the cold water. Floating peacefully among the waves, I am unaware of the approaching waves that are soon to break over me. Crash! A outrageous wave has just taken me over. Its force knocks me to the sandy bottom of the ocean. I am rejuvenated and awakened as I am carried back to the shore. Exhausted, I return to my peaceful spot on the beach. I quickly find myself once again blazing under the warmth of the summer sun.…

It was a beautiful July day in 2014 when my family and I were camping at Holland Lake with our family friends Kinsey and Lauren. There wasn't a cloud in sight and the sun reflected off the bluish greenish water. The air smelt of smoke and fresh trees. Early in the morning when the campground is quiet you can even hear the waterfall. Holland Lake is a very busy lake with boaters, tubers, water skiers, ect. Since that day was so nice there were a bunch of boats on the lake the waves were huge. Kinsey, Lauren, Alex and I were all pretty close in age but Alex and Lauren were taller so they get the outside of the tube. When we all finished breakfast I changed into my swimming suit speedy fast and rode my bike as fast as I could to my cousins camper, Alex. I had to wait what felt like 5 hours for her to change. Once she was done we waited for Kinsey and Lauren at ¨The Beach¨. Alex and I killed time by talking about how much fun we were going to have…

Have you ever wanted to take a long walk on the beach alone? Well, I have when I was four years old. I stayed in a white motel called, "The Atlantis" off the shore of old Orchard Beach, Maine. This is what happened. Being a normal four-year-olds, I took a nap on the red floral printed comforter. When my parents finally had decided to take a nap, I had just woken up. So, I didn't want to just fall back asleep, I decided to leave. I jumped out of bed and unlocked the door as quietly as possible, but it still had squea want to just fall back asleep, I decided to leave. Walking around the beach made me feel more comfortable than ever. As I stroll along, I could feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. The sand looked clean like sugar spread out for miles, as it squished between our toes and made my calves ache with every step. The sound of the ocean comforted me, the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all my worries. I kicked the water and it responded with a swoosh of its waves. That brought back memories, when I used to come here with my friends and used to play around in the water. I couldn’t help but faint a smile. I found it some what amusing to see the sand castles that still remained, the ones we built long ago, the lucky few that made it through reckless little boys play. It was dark outside and stars floated in the distance, but the moon seemed so close, I could grab it and take it in my pocket to keep for myself, so close that I could see it's bright shadow shimmering on the rolling water. Ghost crabs darted past my feet like thieves in the night, going in one hole and out another. One of them climbed to my feet, its legs harmlessly piercing through my skin. I shook it off and it quickly escaped to the nearest hole it could find.…

As the day was coming to an end me and my men decided to head back to our ship with the hope tomorrow we would figure out the way back home. We reached the beach, the night compared to the blackest of satin flowing along the sky and smothering its host in pure darkness. Now the complete opposite of the morning, the air was heavy and humid, making it hard to breathe and the beauty of the area dissipated and was left…

As I waltzed on the beach, squishing down the hot buttery-yellow sand that gave off the hot sensation of a burning grill sizzling my feet, I was immediately taken by the scent of freshly sliced fruits and freshly picked flowers. As you move along, brightly colored fruit stalls filled the sidewalks from which fresh fruit is cut. From a fruit stand, the scent travelled all across the beach with the help of the cool breeze which allowed the scent to fill the air. With my eyes closed, I breathed in the ocean bliss that paraded the beach. As I turn towards the sea, I was amazed. It was a deep blue in some areas but in others a glistening turquoise green. As I made my way towards the water as it laps over each time it reaches to the shore, overhead I heard the frantic screech of seagulls like a sharp knife dragged along a glass. As you dive into the deep blue ocean you can feel and taste the chilly, cool and refreshing water surrounding your body as chills ran down my back. Further from the beach there was a volcano that looked like a giant firework to…

As soon as we got to our hotel room, I rushed to put on my swimsuit to go to the beach before the sun fully set. The hotel room looked like I had been there for a month, with clothes scattered over the marbled tiles in our hotel bathroom. The soft sand between my toes felt like fuzzy socks as I ran to meet the ocean’s tide. The foaming water washed away the sand as well as the stress I had accumulated at the airport. My worries about not having my parents with me and being in a new place fled as I watched the sun set behind the tall…

21st century millennial’s a generation constantly distracted by technology will not come to appreciate the true wonders of the world. In fact most of our generation is set in an artificial way of living instead of experiencing the true beauty of nature and the change in landscapes that I observed on my road trip to California during the summer of 2015. Once I arrived at Santa Monica beach in California my perspective and experience of my surroundings only became more fascinating to me. All of my activities that involved my surroundings were performed without texting or using social media, only the admiring of the environment around me and simple picture taking for memories and future reminiscing.…

As yet I must tell myself not to get to close. I left a note for Marie, for she was still asleep in bed. Nice thing about Georgia is there are beaches everywhere. I love the sun, the light, the warmth, the water, everything. I got there a little after 9am because walking along the small town roads made it feel like, I was the only person in the world. I could be free, at peace. Watching the suns horizon begin to peak through the sky. Nothing like ive ever experienced before. I got to the beach and to my surprise there was already people there. I just set up my chair and slipped off my cover, putting on my heart glasses my mother had given me in spring for my birthday. Laying back for awile I felt the serenity of relaxation, even if it was only for a little while. This was going to be a beautiful summer. But all good things must come to an…
