The human body is a remarkable species, capable of doing some of the most amazing things known to man. It requires a lot of energy and the organisms that make it up constantly have a task to perform. One of the most important functions in the human body is called cellular respiration. It is defined as a process in which cells take the food humans ingest and turn it into energy that can be used by the body in the form of ATP, also known as, adenosine triphosphate. The creation and distribution of ATP is vital to humans and their survival on earth simply because ATP is the energy bodies use in order to continue the tasks they need to keep the human body functioning.
