Impact of soft skills on job opportunities in IT
Introduction

What is soft skills?
According to Investopedia, Soft skills are the character traits and interpersonal skills that characterize a person 's relationships with other people. In the workplace, soft skills are considered a complement to hard skills, which refer to a person 's knowledge and occupational skills. Sociologists may use the term soft skills to describe a person 's "EQ" or “Emotional Intelligence Quotient" (as opposed to "IQ").
What is technical skills?
According to Investopedia, Technical skills are those abilities acquired through learning and practice. They are often job or task specific; in other words, a particular skill set or proficiency required to perform a specific job or task. They are also known as hard skills.
Purpose and Objective of the Study
While certain hard skills are necessary for any position, employers are looking increasingly for job applicants with particular soft skills. This is because, while it is easy for an employer to train a new employee in a particular hard skill (such as how to use a certain computer program), it is much more difficult to train an employee in a soft skill (such as patience).
The purpose of this research proposal is to identify that soft skills are in huge demand while searching the jobs in IT industries. The larger the amount of soft skills, more is the employment opportunities.

METHODOLOGY
This is a proposed study which would examine a sample population of job postings at Linkedin.com, Indeed.com, Simplyhired.com, Monster.com and Dice.com over a 2-3 months period to evaluate whether employers are stating a preference for soft skills during IT recruitment advertising and the correlation between the need of soft-skills and the IT job opportunity. In the proposed study advertisements will be randomly examined and data would be collected to determine if there are any relationships between company location, experience level required, education level
