These are all good soft skills to have and what most potential employers are looking for, but the healthcare industry, especially management, require more soft skills. “Health services administrators need certain soft skills, or personal qualities, in addition to their formal education (Dawn, McKay 2013). I will learn the active listening skills, by listening to someone and then repeating what they just told me and asking questions, to make sure that I have understood what was said. I will take notes when I need to remember vital information that is given. I will let whoever is talking, tell what they are saying without interrupting them. I will also pay attention to the other person’s body language, since it can tell me, things that the person isn’t saying or how their mood really is. In order to learn the leadership skill, I will observe my supervisor and ask him questions about how he manages the department that he is in charge of. I will then practice leading and set an example for others. After learning and perfecting the skills needed for my career, and I start using them in my own daily life, I will be able to successfully give a verbal demonstration and point out a certain situation for each of my soft skills that I have used. Every time I use one of the soft skills, I can use as an example, when talking to the potential employer. It will make me look like a skilled future employee, and send the message, that I am ready to work and

At the start of my teaching, I never used to embed functional skills as much as I do now. My previous observations showed that I needed to embed more functional skills in the lessons to allow the lessons to be more effective, and in order to fulfil the requirements. I took this into consideration and looked at the different ways in which functional skills can be embedded in the lessons. I came to learn that as a teacher it was my responsibility to plan work that gives learners the opportunity to develop and apply functional skills in the right context.…

These study skills will help me during my work as note taking and self-research is what I have learnt myself and will always have to look back on if needed. Learning the qualities of being a professional practitioner will help me during my work as I know what I can and cannot do whilst around children and young people. Being an effective team play or individual worker will help me as I will be working with others, but also will be a confidence boost for myself. As an individual worker, this shows that this is one of my strengths and that I feel comfortable with which way I work or who I work with. Time management is a key study skill. This means that I will not be holding back the children’s and young people’s learning, and that I will also be setting a good example to the younger ones. There are five specific skills that I am both good at and like which is leadership, motivate, counsel, multitask and deal with feelings. When stating that I am good at leadership is because it’s a great way to show others a positive path to follow. To illustrate, I demonstrated leadership when I was in high school since I was president of the Health Academy. The positive leadership moves persuaded and motivated my classmates and underclassmen to follow my steps. Although being president of the health academy was very time consuming I managed to multi-task. There was a point that being a president of the Health Academy made me feel confused and had to deal with my emotions outside of the Academy. Since I did not want others to feel sorrowful…

The three skills I chose are social perceptiveness, monitoring, and critical thinking. Social perceptiveness is being mindful of the reactions other people have and understanding the reasons for those reactions (Occupational Information Network [O*NET], 2016). I use social perceptiveness whenever I interact with other people and try to demonstrate this skill by paying attention their behaviors, body language, and other subtle distinctions. My interaction is authentic and open, while also trying to convey understanding through my own behaviors and communication. Monitoring is assessing/monitoring my own performance, as well as others or the organization as a whole, and then correcting or improving that performance as needed (O*NET, 2016). Monitoring…

Based on the Learning Skills Assessment Record, I found that my strongest skills are self-regulation, collaboration, and responsibility. In past experiences, I have used my self-regulation by constantly setting new goals and objectives for myself. For instance, our fitness plans in health class, or achieving higher than 80% in all my courses. I know that I am doing excellent in self-regulation because I have achieved both of these goals. An example of responsibility is that I am quite punctual for anything I have to attend. I am good at collaborating with others because even though I may not take the leadership role in a group, I will still make sure everyone’s voice is heard and considered.…
