Natural Forces
Natural Forces A natural force is a power brought on by nature. Natural forces, unlike those of other powers, are uncontrollable. When a hurricane passes along the coast, a bolt of lightning strikes a rooftop, and a volcano erupts, these are all examples of natural forces. Natural forces can have devastating effects on wildlife, humans, and the earth itself. Our effects to resist these occurrences, our only way to cope with such devastating forces of nature are to observe, learn, and prepare ourselves for the worst. I believe that almost everyone has had at least one experience with natural forces. My experience of a tremendous force of nature occurred when my mother and I were in a car and all of a sudden a twister passed through the town. Towards the end of 1989, my family and I were on vacation in Fort Myers, Florida. We drove from Trenton, New Jersey all the way to Florida where my grandfather lived. It was a long trip to undergo, especially being six years old and knowing that my father never stopped the car. By the time we arrived at Fort Myers, it was a beautiful sunny day. The wind was gusting enough to pull my hair back, and I was admiring the palm trees, coconuts, and lizards near the Gulf of Mexico. The first few days were nice, but little did I know that I would soon be caught in the middle of a twister. I can clearly remember being in the car on a humid day with a little overcast. We were driving in the car when all of a sudden the wind started to pick up and it started raining a bit. Within five minutes, the weather progressed and there was so much wind blowing around the car that we could no longer hear the radio. I can remember when I saw a stop sign spinning in circles like a “merry-go-round” with electrical problems. I do not remember how my mother got us home so quickly and where we were because all around us was a thick gray fog. However, all I can recall from that point on was sitting with my head in my lap in the back

My mom and my step dad were talking about something and my mom said that I told her that I wasn't feeling good so I went upstairs in my mom's room. All I remembered was lying down and then all of the sudden just blacked out. From what my step dad and my mom saw was worse. My step dad was going to the room to get something when he saw me at the edge of the bed with my eyes rolled back and I was shaking like crazy. He yelled my mom's name and she rushed up the stairs, when she got there she said that I just looked passed out and she picked up my body and head off the ground and kept calling my name she said that I was squinting and trying to say yes. My step dad called the ambulance and they came. When I got to the hospital they ran tests on me to see what was going on. They told my mom it was meningitis. That week was the most horrible week of my life. I was having headaches, throwing up constantly, drowsiness, pain in my body etc., but it was thankfully the virus one and…

I was nine years old running around playing. I heard a loud banging noise and walked outside to see my dad hammering nails into wood to cover the windows on my house. The first time I ever went to Cape Fear River was on July 10 2014. I begged my parents to let me go that morning and finally they said “ pack up your clothes and all the sleeping gear so we can go and you can be quite.’’ I called my buddies and they all said meet y’all there at the Lock Dam 3. We went to the farm and got our 14 foot War Eagle Jon boat. We left the house around twelve o’clock and we took off for Walmart to buy some delicious steaks, soft bread and some crickets to fish with. We meet one of my buddies in the walmart parking lot. He was buying some comfortable sleeping bags and a blow up mattress to slip inside the tent so we wouldn’t have to sleep on that cold, hard sand. We took off to the river with our tall trucks and meet everyone down there at the dam.…

There’s a lot of great things I saw on my trip to Galveston, Texas. My favorite place there was the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, while I was there I got on the roller coaster… that was very interesting. There was kids scared to even get on it because a lot of different people were saying things about it. It was “scary” or maybe “you’ll fall off of it”, I was frightened. From far far away you can see the ships when you were around the beach. They looked sketchy, but, whenever I looked at it from far away I thought it was something else. I was on the beach and I was so scared because one of my good friends shot me a text and said:“You realize you’re at a place where there is sharks and a kid died there because of it a few weeks ago”.…

It was mid June I remember and out here in Las Vegas that meant intense heat. Here we were two 15 year olds out on the streets with a baby on the way. Trying to keep cool was harder than I thought. We both were hungry, tired, and scared. I never imagined my self in that situation at such a young age. We walked and walked all over looking for somewhere to sleep. When we finally found somewhere to sleep outside of a church, my whole life flashed by as I layed there.…

A natural hazard is a situation in which the forces of nature combine to cause destruction. When a natural hazard impacts on a community causing wreckage of property and loss of life, it is called a natural disaster. One such devastating natural disaster – probably the most prominent one in Australian history – was the vicious tropical storm that hit Darwin in 1974, Cyclone Tracy.…

It was around 5 pm on a Tuesday evening when the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, issued a warning to its citizens that a tropical storm would soon become a hurricane. Being only 350 miles from the populated city, Floridians didn’t have much to fear. At age four, I was one of them. But we and the residents of New Orleans, Louisiana and Mississippi didn’t know just how wrong we would be.…

    Law of Attraction

The law of attraction is the name given to the belief that “like attracts like” and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts one can bring about positive or negative results. This belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from pure energy, and the belief that like energy attracts like energy. For example, if a person opened an envelope expecting to see a bill, then according to the law of attraction would confirm those thoughts and contain a bill when opened. A person who decided to instead accept a check might under the same law would find a check instead of a bill. Although, there are some cases where positive or negative attitudes can produce corresponding results, there is no scientific basis to the law of attraction. I do believe in the law of attraction to some extent and in this paper I will explain thoroughly the steps in the law of attraction and give examples why it works if you truly believe in it.…

    Natural Law

    1. The "order of nature" interpretation of natural law is also known as "generic natural law". This interpretation of natural law is influenced by Ulpian's idea of ius naturale, which is what man shares in common with the animals. The "order of nature" emphasizes human physical and biological nature in determining morality. This theory of natural law supports physicalism over personalism and is strictly biological. Physicalism understands nature as the viceroy of God and that the structures and actions of nature are the expressions of God's actions on humankind. Physicalism does not take into account the human intervention that takes place in natural law. Physicalism instead focuses on studying human functions in their natural, or "God-given", states before any type of human intervention. Physicalism is the dominant interpretation of natural law in the Catholic Church and allows moral positions to be taken with question in every scenario where the action is the same.…
