Descriptive Essay: the Beach
Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressures and worries of life. There is always that one spot that can mellow all your problems and soothe troubles in times of stress. For me, the beach is the ultimate cure to all of my problems. While I am there, all of my obligations suddenly vanish. As I stroll along, I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. As I take in the soothing atmosphere that encircles me, I close my eyes, letting myself absorb the warming rays of the sun on a perfect summer day. I am comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my concerns. I look into the cloudless blue sky and see the perfection of life. On the other hand, if serenity is not your desire, other parts of the beach are full of exciting sights, sounds, and smells. The waves at the beach continuously crashing into the shore give a blissful feeling, but looking a little closer you see surfers hanging ten, or children splashing around near the shore. The smell of the salt in the air is another unique comfort of the beach. Many fun opportunities await at the beach, consisting of boating, sailing, parasailing, and a plethora of other activities available to casual beachgoers. Regardless, beach’s most alluring feature has to be simply lying in the sand while soaking up the sun. On a hot summer day where else would anyone rather be but the beach with the water, the sun, and all the activities that are happening, or just to hang out with family and friends. The beach’s sights, smells, and sounds unlike any other place on earth. Every summer over a billion people flock to the beaches for their unique experience. Where else would you rather

It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.…

We enjoyed the atlantic ocean, the warm white sand, and the scorching hot sun. We could hear the huge waves crashing into the sandy shore. We could also hear the lively chatter of the people on the beach. The smell of the salty ocean and the banana boat sunscreen overtook the air with mass quantities of the two smells combined. The touch of the hot sand on your feet and the rough seashells on shore. The best part of the day was when me and my brother went kayaking for an hour out into the deep blue sea. It took fifteen long minutes to fight our way over the…

The first few steps after the boardwalk may feel rather rocky due to scattered sediments and tiny pebbles sticking on to the soles of your feet, but by halfway to the ocean, it starts getting smooth and cooler with every step you take. If laying around and catching some ray is not your type of fun, there are beach volleyball courts set up, kites to be flown here and safe swimming with lifeguards on the look out. Gazing at the sandy shore, you can see the roaring waves rushing in, toppling forts and castles made out of silken sands that shimmers under the blazing sun like tiny luminous stars in the night sky. Take advantage of this peaceful, quiet moment by standing on the shoreline and wait for the rolling ocean water slide by the ankles of your leg. As the waves try to pull back in, you will feel a sinking sensation on the heels of your foot due to the pressure of your weight and the surrounding sand. Lastly, there is an area for youths with a big, plastic palm tree set up in the middle and tiny sprinklers around it, spraying cold, chilling drops that can be felt even to the people strolling on the boardwalk. The beach is always crowded with families and couples to enjoy on their days off and especially on Friday nights, gorgeous firework shoot off can be seen starting at 9:30p.m. (Only during the summer…

The most notable sight is the ocean, which is miles and miles of clear blue water. Attached to the water was smoothe white sand, filled with petite seashells. The sky is cloudless and blue. Bright rays are always shining from the flourescent sun, making it the perfect place to sun bathe. There is always a gentle breeze blowing the palm trees and Marram grass. Families stay on the beach all day swimming in the ocean or playing a variety of beach activities.…

Second of all, the three aspects I’m going to discuss about the beach are climate, types of activities and location. Warm climate is one of the most important features that the beach has. Sun and fun are two words that describe the beach. The temperature in those places is always hot. The sea and the warm climate determine the activities that are available at the beach. People can swim, play volleyball, play soccer, and ride water bikes. In most of the coastal sites, there are discos and restaurants where people can dance or party…

America is a unique individual with several defining qualities. Loudness and quietness coexisting in one place is remarkable and truly beautiful. Ocean City, New Jersey is a breathtaking place, as is America. Being on the beach is what I look forward to the most while preparing for vacation. Silence envelops my body on the beach, and yet waves crash down as adults and children scream and play. The most amazing part about the shore is tanning. Not because I like to get darker, but because I feel as though the sun embraces my body and gives me warmth—it’s a sense of ease, a sense of comfort. Even on the boardwalk, there’re so many people everywhere talking, laughing, eating—but the food is a completely different story. Anyway, being on top of a ride is exhilarating, yet so serene. It’s almost as good as one of my best recollections from vacation.…

As Bethany Hamilton once said, "Being out there in the ocean, God's creation, is like a gift he has given us to enjoy." The smell of grilled hot dogs lingered in the hot, Summer air from the boardwalk, and I smiled because I knew that it was going to be a wonderful day. To begin, I ran towards the luscious, majestic waves as they kissed the shoreline. For example, the waves came crashing down onto the sand with such a powerful force. As I began to run closer to the ocean, my feet touched the jewel- blue water, making my body shiver. Next, I looked around the crowded beach at all of the kids playing, noticing how much fun they were having. For instance, I could hear the waves splashing and the children playing on this hot Summer day. The sand…

    Beach Description

Crushing violently against the slick and glimmering rocks that intermittently align the picturesque shore, the wonderfully blue velvet waves can be raucously heard from thousands of yards away. Jagged-edged and slippery, the mountains of bordering boulders act like the Great Wall of China, providing a barrier against the thrashing surf. The transparent sea seems to threaten passersby who dare to boldly venture closer, as the unfolding currents roll forward with intimidation. Reckless and consistent, the colossal whitecaps dance uncontrollably, as if they are harmoniously following to the thrashing beat of a tribal drum of a local oceanfront Hawaiian shack positioned nearby. Miles down and surrounding neighboring islands, the aggressive tide converts gradually into a calm and tranquil flow that peacefully spills onto the sand covered coastline. At these points, the flawless cerulean ocean quietly provides scarce tourists and daily natives with the pleasant opportunity to virtually complete solitude. Serene and relaxed, the flawless water eagerly invites citizens to explore its diverse marine life which it proudly maintains. The beach’s gritty sand is as warm as a fresh batch of Grandma’s homemade baked chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. Delicately running my bored hands through the grainy particles, I can feel the brittle fragments trapping themselves in my neatly groomed nails, inevitably getting stuck for the next couple days. Perfectly warm, the blinding sun gracefully embraces the minor island with its elegantly resounding rays while the various screechy seagulls impatiently soar past with a ravenous look in their beady eyes. Periodically a dainty and feathery cirrus cloud will appear in the otherwise spotless sky, merely enhancing the scenic atmosphere with more texture. The sky blue backdrop is deep turquoise eyes that swiftly penetrate my soul as I passionately stare into the sensual gaze of my beloved. With the bitter taste of salt…
