After watching a short documentation regarding child labor, this is how I understand it. Child labor refers to the employment of children in any work in a very young age. They are force to work in order for them to survive their daily living thus because of poverty indeed. They are also force because of their lazy and irresponsible parents. And because of this, many children were not able to attend school. Some think that working instead is much better than studying but they don't know that finishing studies will bring many opportunities to their lives. Children who practice child labor are often employed on agriculture, factories and mining which are really dangerous and harmful. Child labor should be focused also by the government. They say that “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,” but how could this be happening if almost Filipino children were not sent to school. They must implement programs regarding this issue. Or maybe, they must stop corrupting money to use it on their own and instead, use that in building more schools that are free from school fees. The Filipinos should be aware of this child labor that other children are suffering in different places of the Philippines. I realized how hard life is for other children so I must be thankful that I don't suffer from child labor. There are also times that I am so picky on foods that I don't realize how lucky I am that I am able to eat three meals a day. The short documentation flashed to us by Sister Domica helped me to strive harder and surpass problems that I may encounter in my life. Thus, from now on, this serves me as an inspiration in life in order for me to succeed and finish college and get a job so that in time, I can able to help children who suffer child labor.
