What would be the impact of education in shaping culture.

Education is a fundamental that every child needs to become a true human being. Without education, a child can be likened as a glass without water. Every people has the right to get education. But, in Indonesia, not everyone get the opportunity to taste the education. Simple reason is because there are still a lot of poor families who can’t afford education for their children. In fact, there are still 96% of our population is uneducated and it impacts the culture of our country. Now on, we will discuss the impact of education particularly in shaping culture.
Indonesia is a big country with hundreds of culture dominated inside. But this culture gradually disappear because of the globalization and modernization. Conservation is needed in order to prevent this and education plays a big role. For example, learning Bahasa Indonesia can give big knowledge of literature such as poems, poetries, learning history about the past that will be influenced their cultural identity, learning PKN ( Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan ) which introduce Pancasila to the children, etc. It is Important have these subjects in developing the children’s knowledge.
Next, education plays an important role in shaping the behavior. Indonesian is known as a friendly, polite, and always smiling. In the class, we are taught how to be polite to our teachers, how to share with friends, how to express our opinion and accept the others’ opinion. We learn not to disturb other’s right and respect to the other. There are a lot of precious knowledge and experiments we got from having education background.
Let us see the uneducated person. Usually, uneducated person shows a bad behavior. They just do what they want to do. And do something that only satisfy themselves. They don’t even care about culture, about manners, they don’t respect to the others. They don’t have enough knowledge to think about how to advance our country.
