For the P2 assignment, I’m going to outline what the central government, local authorities and third sector is and how they look after children and young people. Next I’m going to outline the universal, specialist and targeted services and what it means for the children and young people. After that I’m going to outline what foster care, respite care, residential child care and adoption is and how they look after children and young people.
The Central Government has three relevant departments and services. The first service is the Department of Health and they are responsible for public health matters and monitoring and regulating the NHS. Their aim is to deliver public health and well-being with easily available services and extremely qualified and devoted staff. The second service is the National Health Service (NHS) and they are involved in all kinds of health care e.g. children and young people with learning difficulties or disabilities. For this reason, their responsibility is to deliver the care and suitable supplies for the family who have children and young people with learning difficulties or disabilities. In addition to this, the members of staff that work for the NHS will have to operate very intimately as a multi-disciplinary team for the reason that they will be engaged in the general care plan for that individual.
