1. Senior Capstone Experience - Week 7 Discussion

Assess your self-talk for a few hours. Write down all your negative comments and then list your positive ones. Would you say you are more positive or negative in your approach to life and its challenges? Share examples.
I strongly believe that my most negative comment would be the fact that I am a perfectionist. I just always have to have things go my way. If things do not go as planned, I see myself as a total failure. I tend to exaggerate the importance of insignificant events, such as a small mistake.
On the positive side, I never take blame that belongs to other people. I am very sincere and straight-forward. I always motivate myself by remembering good feelings or events that come with a certain action/activity. I always make sure to keep myself happy by assuming things are going well, until I learn differently.
I definitely feel that I try to stay on the positive side to life and its challenges. Yes, it does frustrate me at times, but we cannot spend all of our time dwelling on the mistakes or on the “what could have been’s.” We need to see these obstacles as just what they really are: bumps on the road and keep moving on.

Write down two traits important for success in a job. Of these, state whether you display them on a daily basis. If not, what plan do you have for improvement?

Confidence helps an employee set high goals and work past rejection or tribulation.
Employees that take accountability and responsibility for their actions are more likely to seek self-improvement and to address mistakes and weaknesses proactively. Excuse-makers are an annoyance to managers because they commonly fail to correct mistakes and are less concerned with

The first reason everyone needs self confidence is because self confidence helps us succeed or acquire even further progress than when we failed. Now I’m going to talk about my positive traits. I like helping people, if there is something I can do, I will do it. I believe that when you do something good for other people you get two things 1, the satisfaction of helping and two, God will reward you for the good action. According to my family I’m a joyful person I’m always smiling and making people laugh. Like I said in the beginning, I don’t like showing people my weaknesses and that includes when I’m sad or depress. I prefer keeping it all to myself and act like everything is okay. I put others first than me, I think that is something good because it doesn’t make me a selfish person. Another positive trait that I will always be thankful to my parents is showing me good manners and to…

Remaining positive has always held an important role in my life. I strive to find positives in every negative situation, and remember that I can always learn something from it. Sometimes changing the way you view a situation can make all the difference. Even through times where I have had every reason to give up, I have chosen to keep a positive attitude. I have found that when I decide to do this, it makes me significantly happier, and I take much more away from the situation.…
