Why are communities important to families during tough times?
Communities are always helpful and will give you a set of open arms during hard times. It amazing what a group of people can do for each other.
How can parents help children understand the changes that families experience during tough times?
Parents can explain to their children what the changes will be in ways that the child can understand them.
How can losing a job or having a change in the economic status of the family affect a parent?
The parent can be more depressed because they feel that they aren’t contributing to the welfare of their family. But they may also feel happy because even though they might be economically sound, they can spend more time with their family and create a stronger bond.
Can positive aspects come out of tough times for families? Why or why not?
Yes, because there’s always a silver lining for everything. They now have more time to spend at home with their families and can become more close to their children.
What do you think the families in the video are doing well in terms of dealing with tough times?
They all are helping each other out because everyone has hard time once and a while and they know what it feels like to be in that situation, or would want help if they are ever in that situation in the future.
What do you think you would do as a parent if you were faced with one of the situations presented in the video?
I think I would try to make the best out of every situation and help out to the best of my abilities. Everyone has bad days are sometimes they need help, and I would want someone to help me if I were every put into that situation. You get what you give eventually.

    I remember when I found out that he no longer had a job, the first thought to my mind was what are we going to do? Though my mom makes good money at her accounting job we were surely not accustomed to just receiving her income to keep us afloat.
