Family On The Brink: Video Analysis

The nature and nurture debate revolves around the question, are our human traits present at birth, or do they develop through experience? Meaning behavior is either a product of inherited or acquired characteristics. As seen in the video, Family on the Brink, you see two twin boys, Jonathon and Joseph, who are very violent and eruptive, which could have been inherited from someone in the family. When they get sent off for treatment and return home, they change their ways and are better behaved, which concluded they developed this behavior through experience from being away. After watching the whole video I believe there is more nature involved in the family. At first glance, you think the boys are the troubled ones with bad tempers and are violent. We were told when they were younger the boys were polite and eager to learn and were nice in public, but at home things were different. I believe they were born with these traits that just got worst over time with their mother and from watching her react to situations. When the boys return home after a year from treatment, everything is good in the house for the first week. Then a week goes by and we see the mother, Lisa change. After the

In this case someone would approach this by looking at the interactions the boys have with their parents.
