Write An Essay On The Alpha Project
The Alpha project really caught my attention. Before Module 1, I thought that the producer almost always dealt with scripts that were already written and they had simply decided to push the creation of a movie with the script they had selected. However, the Alpha project surprised me in that the writer was commissioned to write a script and the producer's job was on hold, or disrupted, due to the writer/director. Thus, I learned that the producer's job is intense and they have to interact with the writer more than I originally thought. The example that the Alpha project provided demonstrated the crucial lesson of how attention to detail in the script throughout the pre-production and production process is important, as the UK Team had noted that "the draft suffered from mixed-genre confusion" (Finney 111) which would hinder the film's marketability and distribution. This project also exhibited that being assertive is key to being successful, as well as the importance of staying on top of the director, writer, etc. that they have hired and not sitting back, waiting for something to be completed. …show more content…
by AMC Movie News stated that indie producers have their hand more in everything. Within the Alpha project, I personally thought that the producers mentioned were attempting to oversee more of the project, especially the UK team who were only supposed to "finance, control and exploit world rights" (Finney 110) although the film was mainly independent. Nevertheless, the video stated that indie producers oversee everything. While the producers failed in the Alpha project instance, I found that they seemed to have attempted to take on more of the "indie producer" role since the script and film were not coming together

My job in our Candide Video Project was a semi-important acting role, and more importantly, editor. To start, we brainstormed ideas with each other concerning the plot of the video and the order it would follow. Once we had our scene and the basic idea of what we were satirizing we started on our script. Anirudh typed up the basic draft of the script while me and the other team member pitched ideas to him. I’d say that Sathvik and Atul were responsible for constructing most of the plot, while me and Anirudh just added some ideas and tweaks here and there.…

    1. Consider the effectiveness of the dialogue and storyline. Although many professional screenwriters do not get the same attention as actors or directors, they are the true architects of a movie. Screenwriters may adapt a book into script form, or they may create their own original stories for the screen. Either way, you should be able to sense an attention to detail in the dialogue and plotlines. A successful movie script uses authentic dialogue and scenarios that the actors can handle with ease. A less successful script places characters in situations that feel artificial or contrived. The language of the characters may be peppered with obscenities, or thoughts that seem to come more from a screenwriters mind than the characters. When analyzing the writing in a film, ask yourself if the dialogue felt honest and the scenes flowed…

There are many people involved in making a movie possible. When everything is put together it seems as though it was just one simple camera shot. But looking closer and at a short clip of a movie shows a little light on how much was actually done to make it realistic. The first thing people notice and pay attention to are the actors. But who tells the actors where to stand, what to say, and what emotions to portray? Who adds that little bit of background music to bring out the anger, sadness, or love in a scene? When going through the “outtakes” of a movie it shows that there is someone responsible for putting just the right shots in the right place. There is more to a movie than just the actors and someone yelling “cut”. Watching a clip of the movie trailer for The Notebook brings all of these things to light.…
