Collaboration is working together to achieve a common goal; it is paramount to collaborate with others; because, no one is an island, and a variety of skill sets are required to function effectively. The group that I was assigned experienced significant time laps when calling for assistance to towing equipment to a designated location. It cause problems; because, there were not enough equipment tow vehicles to support the Group; aircrafts had to wait for equipment to towed after being used by another aircraft. This caused the aircraft scheduler’s frustration as they had to stagger aircraft mission; because, equipment was not being delivered on time. After careful consideration of how to move forward and resolve the problem, I sketched a draft version of the towing tool, and collaborated with the Vehicle Control Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). We agreed that the equipment towing situation affected our mission and other Air Force deployment missions around the country. We collaborated on different ways to develop the portable pintle hook for ease of use. Once we adjust some of the design features to make it more user friendly, the next step was to present the ideals to the Commander. We presented the idea to the Commander and he was convinced that having a tool of this nature would save towing time, which translated to on time missions, and saving funds.
