Why Veterans Are Considered Heroes
Veterans are considered heroes because they fight for our freedom. The veterans don’t have to fight for our freedom, but they do. They risk the lives for us and all we do is disrespect and treat them like they're nothing and yet they still go out there and risk their lives for us. Did you know that 22 veterans commit suicide each day. Why, well it's because they feel like they're nothing and the have know on to go to and in their eyes the only way to end this suffering is to die. I got this information from the V.F.W in May26, 2016. There website is www.vfw.org/. They also made a cause called the 22 which helps out the veteran that are struggling and the families that lost there soldier because of suicide . So you need to give respect to all

It is important to keep honoring our veterans because they have sacrificed so much for this country. Also we honor them because we need to tell them how appreciative we are of their dutiful service to our country. Even the president honors our veterans. Each year the president or one of his representatives lays a wreath on The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers in the Arlington Cemetery every Veterans Day to honor those veterans. Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…

Our heroes silently serve, provide aid around the world and defend the quality of life that Americans enjoy. They are proud of their service and rarely ask for anything in return, so they walk among us, often carrying the scars of their sacrifice. These people often do not get the proper recognition they deserve, as many of them lose their life, and sometimes we don't even take a second to think about it as it happens so often, when we should mourn and respect, these righteous heroes. Yet there are people who indeed disagree with this statement saying that not all soldiers should be categorized as heroes. For example, Chris Hayes is the host of All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, and three years ago, he stated, “obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism: hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic.” Hayes uses the phrase, “genuine, tremendous heroism” which implies that soldiers have to do more than just fight to be heroes. They have to do more than risk their lives and put everything on the line by just going to war. The standard definition of a hero is a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. The phrase that Hayes uses is a subjective phrase, and he uses it’s meaning in a…

Veterans Day isn’t about relaxing at home or hanging with friends. Instead, it’s about remembering those who served in the war and died, and honoring the military soldiers. It first started on November 11, 1919. Just one American Veteran is still alive today: 108-year-old Frank Buckles. In order to recognize Veterans Day, the Dublin society should host a community walk, wear white, and bring in real soldiers to talk.…

First we have to look at the real world and then you would notice that there are heroes all around us. Veterans Day is the day that we set aside to honor those who serve, but one day does not cover all the bloodshed. The day is not enough to show the appreciation which is due to the countless number of heroic men and woman. The American people should do more to show how much they appreciate their duty. Veterans make me be proud to be in a country were people would sacrifice themselves to keep our freedom and other rights that we take advantage of everyday.…

It is very important to keep honoring our veterans because if they didn’t fight for our country we would still be ruled by England or any other country that tried to fight us. Veterans play a big role in shaping our country and it is our job to recognize that. It takes a lot of tears and heartbreak to end a war, like WWI that ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, and those who survived and died are worthy of the recognition. If you have never talked to a veteran about their experiences in war, try it sometime and you might see how valuable they were in the making of the U.S. I think that it was smart that Dwight D. Eisenhower changed it from Armistice Day to Veterans Day because like I said it is very important to keep…

In “All quiet on the western front” the heroes that are in the novel would be the young men who died while fighting for their country. Many people believe a hero is an individual who epitomizes their own masculinity by sustaining a muscular figure with a gorgeous women on their arm. What I see is that a hero is someone who not afraid to lose their life to protect or save another person’s life. Soldiers are portrayed as people who ruthlessly kill and destroyed by the other side. People do not see the hardships that these soldiers endure when they fight for their own country and die protecting it. Even if the enemies of the other side are not helping the main characters they are still being heroic by fighting for their particular country. Individually the soldiers are not acting heroic but all together as one, they were heroes to have fought and return alive.…

Veterans. For most people, the first word that pops into their minds is heroes. What are heroes? People who act like role models? Someone who chooses to do great deeds? We all think differently when it comes to veterans being a hero. But in my opinion, veterans live as our America's heroes. These are the souls that want to protect our citizens and fight for our freedom. We’re talking about the men who prepare most of their days, training how to be a better soldier and a skilled person out in the battlefield.…

Veterans are an important part of our nation and do not get the credit that they deserve. Veterans have risked their lives for this country countless times, yet they go unappreciated a lot of times. From a personal stance, my grandfather is a retired veteran himself and he fought in the Vietnam War. If my grandfather had not been able to get on his feet from retiring from the Navy, I would hope that there would be some type of support system for him. A lot of veterans today do not have the support system that they had when they were in the service. Once the veterans are out of the service their lives are not structured while in the service they were organized and controlled.…
