Veterans Thank You Essay
“Because of you I am able to live freely. Yet I do not know you. But there you stand ready to fight. And their you are prepared to die for me, (Tanabe). Veterans people who risk their lives for people they don’t even now. Usually when we see a veteran we thank them for their service. These Americans Veterans risk their lives and it's a natural instinct to say thank you, but to some it’s no problems, and when someone says thank you to a vet they are reminding them of the good and bad times when they served.

Walking up to a veteran and saying thankyou is a natural instinct, but is it no problem to the veterans you say it to. To start off, “I thanked him for his service. “No problem” he said.”(Garth) Mr.Garth a retired marine was thanked but he said it was no problem- what gives. It is something that many veterans call “thank you for your service phenomenon”, (Freedman). These veterans find it their duty to serve and the people thanking them of no idea what they do over there. They possibly are killing people and we are thanking them for that. Whenever seeing an ‘old’ veteran with a Vietnam War or World War ll you say thank you because they are why we are here today. Without veterans over seas fighting we won't have the freedom we have today. Therefore seeing them we must thank them. Additionally, the down side of thanking them is we don’t think of the other side of saying thank you. If a Veteran has seen many lives die he/she doesn’t want to be reminded about that- and saying thanks does that most of the times. To conclude, saying thanks to a Veteran is a natural

It is important to keep honoring our veterans because they have sacrificed so much for this country. Also we honor them because we need to tell them how appreciative we are of their dutiful service to our country. Even the president honors our veterans. Each year the president or one of his representatives lays a wreath on The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers in the Arlington Cemetery every Veterans Day to honor those veterans. Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…

In the span of our existence, humans have always seen soldiers and war veterans as higher than man. Though this is evident in our culture today, we have also realized that those who return come back in different forms. A war veteran is seen as someone with endless amount of courage and infinite power of will. We see it all the time whether it’s a picture, television ad displaying a soldier standing tall and holding their country’s flag proudly, or it’s the iconic picture taken in Iwo Jima (if you don’t know which one that is, it is the one of all the soldiers lifting the American flag on top of a hill). These representations are about pride, honor, courage, and everything great about the United States.…

In 1918, President Wilson established November 11 as a day to show honor and thankfulness for those who have risked their lives for our country. This day was significant because it was "The War to end all Wars,” World War I. This day was mainly set aside to show pride to our veterans of World War I. In 1938, Armistice Day, Veterans Day original name, became a legal holiday. In 1945 just after World War II ended, congress changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day. Since then, Veterans Day was created to show pride to American Veterans of every war, with the oddity of a few years in which it was celebrated every year on a Monday, November 11th.…

Veterans Day is the day that we set aside to honor those who serve, but one day does not cover all the bloodshed. The day is not enough to show the appreciation which is due to the countless number of heroic men and woman. The American people should do more to show how much they appreciate their duty. Veterans make me be proud to be in a country were people would sacrifice themselves to keep our freedom and other rights that we take advantage of everyday.…

It is very important to keep honoring our veterans because if they didn’t fight for our country we would still be ruled by England or any other country that tried to fight us. Veterans play a big role in shaping our country and it is our job to recognize that. It takes a lot of tears and heartbreak to end a war, like WWI that ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, and those who survived and died are worthy of the recognition. If you have never talked to a veteran about their experiences in war, try it sometime and you might see how valuable they were in the making of the U.S. I think that it was smart that Dwight D. Eisenhower changed it from Armistice Day to Veterans Day because like I said it is very important to keep…

When organizing the Veterans assembly I would have never thought that so many veterans and community members would be so greatly impacted. While the assembly was taking place there where many Veterans who cried throughout the event, the impact this activity had on them was that we showed them how thankful we are for the things that they did for us even when they did not know us. This impacted them because it showed them that they are people who we are thankful for because without them our country would not be the great place it is today. This activity made them see that all of their hard work and suffering was worth it, and that future generations are willing to give them the respect that they deserve.…

We fight because we believe. Not that war is good, but that sometimes it is necessary. Our soldiers fight and die not for the glory of war, but for the prize of freedom and the ideologies that our country stands for. So great, were these ideologies, that men and women have bravely fought to defend them. OUR COUNTRY HAS FACED MANY TESTS OF COURAGE since its birth. Our answer to tests can be found in cemeteries from the islands of the Pacific to the coast of northern France. You can visit the hills in Arlington National Cemetery where markers record the names of more than 280,000 men and women. Each one was once or still is the most important person in someone's life. WITH EACH LOSS IN WAR, the world is changed forever for the family and friends left behind. IT IS UP TO US TO GIVE MEANING FOR THEIR SACRIFICE and de devoted to those principles for which these heroic citizens gave their lives. There is NO GREATER LOVE than to give your life for another. In a way, veterans are like the “fathers” of our country. Our father would risk their lives to protect us, which is similar to a veteran going to war for their country. This is why we celebrate them on November 11, otherwise known as Veterans Day. A day we honor the veterans because some of us don’t realize all their importance to us. Some ways that we can honor them is saying the pledge, taking your hat off during the star spangle banner, and giving them respect; that is what they deserve. When you see a veteran or an active duty soldier, simply shake their hand and say “thank you”.…

The citizens in the U.S.A would have a tough life without our soldiers fighting for our freedom, therefore, I am thankful for my freedom and safety. My flag in my heart means freedom because, back then in a world of slaves, citizens with darker skin didn’t get to be free, and live on their own. Now that we have won some wars and made peace with some states, everybody has equal rights. I respect each and every one I see, each and every one I hear.
