Why I Want To Attend College?

When I think of college, I think of self-improvement. The years that I will spend pursuing a degree will be a time of personal development. I will progress in various areas of my life, such as interpersonally, socially, and mentally. A new state, new friends, and new environment, are numerous reasons for why I want to attend college. However, one of the dominant reasons for me wanting to further my education is the “knowledge”. College is the next step in education as well as one’s maturity. I will be leaving home and going to a different state to start a new educational journey. I look forward to being away from my parents; not because I think they are not cool, but because I want to become independent. I believe that up until this point my parents have protected me and provided me with astounding wisdom. Now it is time to implement all they have taught me in my life. I will be on my own, and will make my choices based on the foundation of values and morals my parents have instilled in me.
I am ready for the challenge. I know with every obstacle that I face I will have an opportunity to learn from it. I have found that failure is the beginning of success and building character. In college, I will learn the importance of time management, work ethic, and responsibility. These are all disciplines that I will use for the rest of my life. In addition, I look forward to networking. I believe in the old saying “it’s not about what you know, but who you know”. A campus full of aspiring young adults is the perfect place to make connections and acquire diverse knowledge from others. Being in college will help me develop skills and friendship that will last a
