What Is The Lanier Mansion?
Located in Historic District of Madison, the Lanier Mansion was built in the year 1844, and was designed by architect Francis Costigan of Madison.
The mansion was built in Greek revival style of architecture and was home to James F. D. Lanier.
The mansion offers its visitors a perfect opportunity to explore and experience history as it was in the 1840s America.
The museum house is spread over three floors, and careful interior restoration and redecoration have recaptured the Mansion’s 19th century splendour.
The house has been decorated with period furniture and a tour guide will explain the decor of each room during the tour. The major highlight of the mansion is its curving three story staircase.
Lanier Mansion is open to the public daily
