What Does Writing Mean To Me
To be honest I have never thought about the question what does writing mean to me in my life. While thinking I can honest say that writing helps me to feel better, I feel some kind of relief by write . If you have a lot of things to say, but you have some problems of expressing them by talk about it, you may try to write it down to help you express what you have to say. Writing for me is self-expression. I think, that we all are writers, and developing our talent of writing we can express ourselves through writing.

Writing means many different things to different people. To me writing is putting all my thoughts that I cant say aloud to people on paper where I decide who gets to read it. A journal can be the best person to talk to about anything, it wont judge and it will always listen. At the same time I never really had a problem with telling people how I felt when I was younger yes I did but I kind of grow past it as I

Without it I feel that we would not have been able to achieve close to what we have so far. As a professor at Heckathorn states said , "writing is an action, an event, a performance." Writing is a form of permanent communication. It sometimes help people be able to talk to some one they can’t talk to in person and really tell that person how they truly feel about them

To me, sometimes writing help some people escaping their own little world of reality and entering a new world where they can express their feelings and grow with their characters. Help them get over fear I know it help me when I was eight or nine I had a problem talking to other people that weren’t family. So at time I had to write to help express my self but as I got to be better and better at football a hold new side of me came out. I was more open to talk to more people it help me become who I am today and I owe it to writing my feeling on paper getting it all

In poetry for instance, the writer has the ability to say a lot with few words. They can present a problem and a solution, and leave the reader with their own individual points to ponder. In short stories, the writer is given the opportunity to open a window into a situation and let the reader be a voyeur of some sorts in their story. This allows the reader to find significance and tie up loose ends on their own. A novel however, allows the writer room to stretch, place to expound and philosophize. Basically, every word and detail must be there for a reason. It doesn't give the reader much room to imagine, but rather paint them a vivid picture of what is being portrayed. In any form of writing, I agree with Baldwin that the power of the written word can transform your life and raise your thoughts above the mundane tasks of daily life. For both the writer, and the eager reader. So through all these ups and downs of writing, what can be achieved? Why keep plugging away in your journal or diary that no one will ever read? Every person who writes has a reason. But first, "Begin with the desire to speak into silence, begin from…

The most vivid memory I have of writing is back in the tenth grade. I had the best teacher ever in regards to writing. I used to view writing as a senseless waste of time. Writing, in my opinion, at the time was always noted to be formal and boring; however, my tenth grade English teacher, Mrs. Perez, changed my whole perception of writing and how it affects humanity. One day after class she pulled me aside and recommended a book known as, “His Dark Materials,” which is about a young girl who, with her allies, fought for the discovery of a dark substance called the “Dust.” The book single handedly altered my mental picture of writing and creativity. Writing can be about anything in the universe, and the possibilities are endless. The main point, however, which ties everything together, is imagination. One’s imagination can truly be defined as infinite to the power of infinite, because it contains numerous amounts of details and features on life and the world itself. How does this tie to writing one may ask. Well an elaborate imagination helps to create an elaborate piece of writing. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”…

Everyone writes for different reasons. Writing allows us to tell a story through our own perspective. It allows us to pour all our thoughts and emotions into something that we otherwise might not speak about. Writing can spark ideas and memories we have and draw them out to be put into words on paper. It exercises our mind and our way of thinking. When you write you say what you mean. Some people use writing as an outlet, a way to express themselves or relieve stress and anxiety. It can be used for any purpose. Elie Wiesel uses his experience in the holocaust in a lot of his writing. He feels that he must be the one to tell the story of the victims, the ones who can’t tell it for themselves. As a survivor he is responsible for never letting anyone forget about it. I like to write about something I feel strongly about, something that makes me happy or makes me think, someone or something that has influenced me in different ways. For instance, when I visited Ireland a few years ago, the experience I had there is something I care so much about and it has affected me to such an extent that I want to write about it. The people in my life and the experiences I have had are topics that make me excited to write about.…

I love writing because you can write anything your heart desires. I love how it is a way to communicate with other people. When I was in first grade my teacher whose name has escaped my memory, taught my class how to write in cursive a year early. I loved the way the letters curved and swirled on paper. A desire to write and write anything was sparked by the fact that I thought cursive was pretty. But in first grade I was mostly writing vocab words and not essays so I had not yet discovered its power to communicate. Today, I love writing because I can share my opinion with the world. I see that writing gives me the power to make a difference and all people have to do is read…

I believe that writing can be a great tool for everyone in order to express themselves freely. Not everyone is a writer; some people have to work at putting their thoughts and words together, before putting them to paper. We are all unique in how we express ourselves; some are just more creative than others. How do we as individuals, get to that point to be able to expand or elaborate further on paper our thoughts? When we have finally gathered our thoughts and start to lay the words down on paper, how do we then decide how to organize them to be able to present them to our audience? In order to start the writing process we have to come up with a topic that we believe would interest others. We then need to do thorough research to have all of our facts and supporting documentation. This would also include making sure that we cite our sources. We never want to plagiarize; using any other persons work without giving them full credit is unethical and dishonest. With that being said, how do we learn to cite our sources properly? How do we determine if the source is accurate? This is all part of learning the writing process. Once we have learned the process, I believe we can all become a great writer if we so choose to be.…

The essay “Why I am a writer” from Pat Mora explains why the author loves to write. She enjoys reading books and through her writing she would like others to discover the same joy she feels when she reads a book. She loves writing because she can find out more things about herself and also describe them. Most importantly she is a Hispanic writer and wants to share her ideas and stories because she believes it is important for Hispanics to take part in literature. I also think writing is a great way to express myself and my feelings to others because you can present your ideas in a more vivid way.…

The importance of writing, both academically and professionally is to be able to communicate your thoughts properly to everyone whom you communicate with. As I sit here now writing this journal, I can’t help but feel how brilliantly ironic it is to write a whole journal on the topic of how I write. Besides that though, I guess I should begin. Writing, for me, has always been somewhat of a friend and a home. It’s been a companion through dark times, and a place I could go no matter how I was feeling. I have a deep love of the written word, and a great respect for anyone who puts pen to paper. (Or, in the new age of “handy-dandy” Chromebooks, anyone who puts keys to Google Docs.) That all being said, I have mixed feelings on how I view myself specifically. I think in my many years of jotting down random short stories and poetry, I have developed a strong grasp of all the traits of writing. On the other hand though, I definitely think there are still areas of my writing that could be improved.…

I began writing at the very young age of eleven. The first thing I remember writing was a heartfelt song called finished. Even though I was too young to fully understand relationships, I wrote that song as if I had experienced it myself. After I wrote my first song I began to write poetry to express my feelings. Once my mom found out about my writings, I started writing poems for different programs at our church. Throughout the years, I began to enter a variety of poetry contests. In my junior year of high school I wrote a poem about bullying and won first place. Writing is a getaway for me, it always has been and it always will be.…
