Veterinarians: Career, Salary And Education Information
Abstract In this paper, is a collection of research that I have done on three careers of my choice. The first career is a career that I aspire to be, a Veterinarian. The second, falling under a required Information Technology (IT) career, a Graphic Designer. Lastly, another career falling under IT, a Video Game Designer. Following the overview of these careers is a summary of the jobs under the criteria. The criteria being: salary, individual satisfaction, benefits, good working environment, and flexibility. Concluding the paper is a reference page used to cite my various sources, and an appendix used for additional information on my chosen careers.

A study, conducted in 2012, has shown that 1 in 3 veterinarians have worked 50+ hours per week. With working lengthy hours, the medium annual wage was $84,460 in May 2012 (Veterinarians: Career, Salary and Education Information).
Individual Satisfaction
In a career field, individual satisfaction greatly varies. Specifically for a Veterinarian individual satisfaction may consist of reasonable/flexible work hours, good business flow, etc. Work hours may not always seem reasonable since Veterinarians are always on call. Good business flow comes from the community and their animal population.
Benefits
For all jobs, the employee more than likely would enjoy receiving benefits. Benefits can vary from insurance to vacation time. In the Veterinarian career path, there is a long list of benefits. One benefit that comes with this job is paid-sick leave. Along with paid sick leave comes insurance coverage for medical, dental, and vision. Lastly, is the 2-4 weeks of paid vacation. These job benefits allow work to be less stressful on the employee as they give their services.

It is also highly important for a person in this occupation to have a lot of technological knowledge. In order to pursue becoming a graphic designer, it is required for one to have a bachelor's degree in the related field. Bachelor Degree programs may require that the student has taken a full year of basic art and design courses before starting the program. Potential employees should have also taken art in high school, which would have prepared them for what is to come in graphic design. It usually would take a beginner graphic designer 1 to 3 years to advance to a higher occupation in this career path. Exposure to allergens like pet dander and fur, along with radiation are just some of the health issues vet technicians must deal with on a day-to-day basis.
