Unicef Case Study

1. HOW CLOSELY ARE THEY RELATED TO YOUR HOME COUNTRY
There are too big organizations where I do voluntary work more or less: Red Cross and Unuicef.
Last year I wrote about Red Cross. So this year I decided to write about Unicef.
Unicef has voluntary groups all over the Finland. In September every year there are weekend for the voluntary workers where they meet each other. It is very great to see people from every where in Finland and have the same aim in this big organization.
Finnish Committee for Unicef has been established 1967. This committee is based in Helsinki and has about 50 employees in the office. Voluntary groups are about 40. The committee has also
National Goodwill Ambassadors, who give their time to tell about work of the Unicef.

WHAT ABOUT FROM A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Unicef is global organization. It has branches all over the world. In richer of developped countries of course Unicef collect money to be able to do their real work. Actually Unicef concentrates to help children: United Nations Childrens’ Fund. It means that Unicef belongs to United Nations
(UN) and it’s main aim is to save children and give children all over the world equal life circumstances. In poorer countries Unicef helps and donates areas where it is needed help. Just now the crises are in Syria, Ebola areas and Ukraine. Of course Unicef works also in the areas where is not catastrophe going on but instead there circumstances are permanently hard to live. For example there is going on water project in Uganda. It sounds: again. But the truth is that there is still water problems so Unicef tries to find new ways to solve this water problem.3
3. WHAT IS THE SITUATION OF YOUR HOME COUNTRY IN THE
INTERNATIONAL COMPARISON?
Finland give quite a lot of money to Unicef. The main thing of Finland’s Committee is to collect money for the International Unicef. The other aims are to give information about children’s position on world and school contacts in the

For example year 2013 Finland’s Committee collectd
19,4 million euros for this work.4
4. WHAT FACTORS AFFECT THAT
For the Finland’s work affect decisions of International Unicef. We in Finland have the same aims as the Unicef everywhere in thr world. Finland belongs to the richer countries. So it means that
Finland helps the poorer countries.
Finland’s committee mostly collects money. How much money the committee gives to International fund depends on that how much Finnish people are ready to give. Maximum 24 percent of the collection result can go to collection costs. The rest has to go to raise International fund result.5
5. HOW SIGNIFICANT IS THE ROLE OF THE ORGANIZATION IN THE FUTURE
The meaning of Unicef will surely always be very huge. If there won’t be any corruption, the work of Unicef is specially meaningful. Although the organization itself is very big, it works very hard for the children in the world.
Surely the meaning might change. If the situations in different countries change then also the work of Unicef will change. The employees follow all the time what happens in the world. They all the time know what is going on and where. So they are all the time ready to change the their work

“Together we can help the poorest of the poor live a life of dignity, free from poverty.” You can help by; hosting a Caritas Kitchen, gather and host a Caritas Ks, donating to Project Compassion, organising your own fundraising event, or joining a sponsored event. Fundraising is also an opportunity to raise awareness about important issues, and a chance for the community to take part in a social justice action. Everyone who contributes is empowered, and able to stand in solidarity with the people for whom they’re raising funds. All the money raised during these fundraising events is used to provide the poorest of the poor all around the world, with facilities that they previously couldn’t afford. Just $5 can provide a tray of seedlings, so a farmer can diversify the crops they grow in their farm in Fiji, and $930 could provide two adult dairy cows for a farmer so his family can generate a stable source of income in Indonesia. $8500 could construct a borehole that would provide 500 households with access to clean water in Malawi, and $570 could provide two days of training for health centre staff so they can share new knowledge about childhood nutrition with local communities in Cambodia.…

This includes the appeals of Caritas Australia, the donation projects and the various missions that Caritas carries out every year. The missions I will be discussing in this report will be based more on the social injustice issues of countries stricken by war, famine and even government oppression. Caritas Australia’s primary approach to tackling the issues of poverty as a result of war, and government oppression is to receive donations from Australians and to produce hardworking volunteers to work overseas face to face with those living in the harshest conditions in the world. Through this approach Caritas Australia is able to sustainably provide necessities to the needy worldwide and within Australia for many years to come. This process of helping others on a large scale has been adapted by other Charitable Organisations that have now become leaders in social justice upholders, including amnesty international and Oxfam.…

Feeding America is the nation 's largest hunger relief organization. Because poverty is one of the leading causes of hunger, so its mission is to reduce poverty in US and to reduce hunger. The Salvation Army has been committed to tending to the physical and spiritual needs of the poor since its inception, serving more than 30 million people in need each year in the United States.
