Craig Kielburger's Free The Children
There are many organizations in the world that have had a great amount of impact on
the world. Some organizations mainly focus on human rights or child slavery. The
organization, Free the Children helps internationally and locally. They originally started out
by trying to stop child labour and child slavery. The purpose of this paper is to talk about
Craig Kielburger and learn how he impacted the world with his organization Free the
Children.
Craig Kielburger was born in Thornhill, Ontario on December 17th, 1982. He has one
older brother named Marc Kielburger, and his parents are Fred and Theresa Kielburger.

slavery years he spent six years chained to a carpet weaving board. After Craig read this
article he knew he had to do something about it. Craig then gathered twelve school
friends. Craig approached many organizations to try to get involved and make a
difference. From that point on Free the Children was started.
Free the Children is a non-profit organization that originally started out by trying to
stop child labour. They are putting a stop to child poverty and exploitation. Free the
Children is an international charity, and it is a very large organization. It has many
campaigns such as We Scare Hunger, We Are Silent, We Day, and many more. Both Craig
and Marc Kielburger are the founders of Free the Children. We Scare Hunger is a food drive
that is connected through free the children. Any school or local community can hold a food
drive before Halloween called "We Scare Hunger". You can collect food then you donate it
to your local food bank. This helps all the people in communities that can’t afford to eat. We

Day there are many motivational speakers and performers. You can't buy a ticket to We
Day, you can earn a ticket through the service you do for your community. “We Day is a
commitment to better our global community. We Day is the movement of our time.”
Free the Children builds new schools and academic building such as libraries. They
also rebuild and refurbish existing schools and provide furniture. Free the Children is
responsible for giving 55,000 children an education. everyday One of the most important
thing that Free the Children do is providing education to children who don't have it. Free
the Children helps provide communities with clean water to use for cooking, drinking
water, healthy sanitation for washing your hands and going to the washroom. They also
educate communities about healthy hygiene, and they try to prevent waterborne diseases.
Free the Children works with many partners in developing countries to improve access to
health clinics. They are trying to provide vaccinations for children. The have primary care
which include routine check ups and treatment for things such as diabetes,
