I have had the opportunity to receive great encouragement from people in my life. This has led me to where I am today, which is the desire to become a medical assistant in a children’s hospital. Ever since I was a young girl, I have been interested in anything that is medical related. This goes from playing doctor to my dolls and friends, to becoming a certified nurse’s aide (CNA) at the age of 18. My mother is working towards her goal of becoming a registered nurse after overcoming breast cancer. I also have a cousin and a couple of aunts who are nurses whom I look to whenever I get frustrated with achieving my goal. When taking…

Although ADP (Automatic Data Processing) is one of the leading providers of business outsourcing solutions, it has weaknesses that negatively affect the company. One significant aspect of ADP is that the company has clients in many foreign countries, but less than only 20% of ADP’s revenues come from other regions of the world. The company has been majorly focusing on customers’ needs here in the US, keeping their clients up to date with the current laws and regulations (their HR department) and making payroll processing convenient. What they lack, though, is a diversified geographic. It’s important to concentrate on the US operations, but other countries have specific issues that may need to be handled differently. If ADP wants to expand and take full advantage of their services, they ought to pay more attention to their geographic diversification.…

I asked my mother "Where is the nearest hospital?" and my mother replied, "It's about twenty miles away child." It was from that moment on I began to realize a desire to engage in a profession that focused on the area of helping sick people. After losing my father I made the initiative to start a new direction in my life to pursue a career in healthcare. So I decided to become a surgical tech to test my interest. It has always been my vision to go into health care, but it didn’t just appear out of nowhere. In my life, I have many family members who are involved in the health field, from doctors to pharmacists and many nurses. Having the opportunity to have seen the variety of occupations and professions, I have come to realize the profound impacts of the health care on society at an early age, more than anything I wanted to become part of that impact. Growing up, I knew the best way for me to find my calling, would be through experience. The experience that was most insightful for me was working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. One day I was working on the floor, and the nurse and I heard what sounded like a patient taking there last breath. The nurses and I ran into the patient’s room, where one nurse performed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He lied there having the ability to breathe again, because of the nurse’s knowledge and education, she saved the patient’s life. To save someone’s life is to become a hero in another’s eye, that is a nurse’s role in essence, a hero. A hero is someone who has the ability to transform compassion, courage, and integrity for the wellbeing of others. Thought-out my life I would like to say I have the characteristics of a hero. I have compassion for those in need, courage for people who don’t have a voice, and integrity in everything I do. I believe I will function as a nurse, like a…

My goal is to be a family nurse practitioner. This goal did not stem from any traumatic events in my life. From a young age, I always felt the need to help others. While in high school, I volunteered at the local hospital as a candy striper. During this time, I was introduced to the medical field and I especially loved helping the patients and talking to the nurses about their pa-tient care. My mother called it my spirit of caregiving. After high school, I obtained a hospital position as a junior risk management secretary and thus my administrative assistant career began. Life kept me in this field but my heart was always pulled toward nursing.…

My long term goal is to work with children or work in the surgery department. Since my first interaction with the nurses in the ER, I have challenged myself to be the best student and learn many skills, to help people in need within the community, to effectively communicate, and to work well as a team. Never could I have imagined that a ruptured cyst on a softball field could lead me down a path to a career in nursing, but it did, and I am ready and excited to experience the rewarding and fulfilling life of a…

All these seemed like a dream when I performed well in sciences, something that I had not always done in high school. The most interesting part was the time to put the theory into practice by working with real patients. I discovered how much this suited me with the message on my favorite t-shirt ‘Nurses Make It All Better’ acting a motivation. I later realized that this was not always the case as not everything was always rosy. I saw people suffering, die and a lot worse.…
