A social network service is a web site that allows people to create a public profile for everyone to see. There are both positive and negative effects of social networking. Facebook is the most used and populated website on the web. Facebook was launched seven years ago and has already attracted over a half a billion people around the world and it still continues to grow. Many teenagers love social media because of its wide connectivity and function that people can receive it for free; it does not require money to make an account and use it. Facebook is the most visible among various social media. What’s impressive about this site is that you can easily connect with your long lost friends and see how they’re doing, or vice versa. You can also make new friends in Facebook. Though this could get addictive and may divert our attention away from the real world. With Facebook and Twitter a person can post statuses about anything they would like to share with their friends or family. Privacy settings on a person’s profile allow them to limit who can and cannot view their profile information. While Facebook status posts are unlimited on the amount of characters that you may type, Twitter posts are limited to one hundred forty characters. Facebook has a newsfeed that shows a person posts that have been made by people that they are friends with. Twitter has a newsfeed that shows posts only for those people that a person is following. The difference in the information that people are getting is that with Facebook people have to accept somebody as a friend for them to show up on their newsfeed. This would allow them to view a person’s newsfeed and profile information and vice versa. With Twitter people may follow somebody and see their status posts, but they do not have to follow that person and see his or her posts. Although posts are different with Twitter and Facebook, Twitter allows people to update their Facebook status at the same time they tweet their status on Twitter. By doing this people are updating both sites at the same time. All of this can be done very quickly…
