Belinging Is Security
Belonging is knowing you have somewhere to sleep everynight; having somebody to share your feelings with. Belonging is having someones back, knowing they have yours. Before Michaels adoption, he didnt know what it meant to belong. He had no bed to sleep in at night, no food to eat, nowhere to stay warm until the Thoue family came along. They showed him what it meant to belong. Once the thoue family invited Michael into their family, michel felt secture which allowed him to reach his full potetial. Michael is a prime example of how success is much easier achieved when given the tools, and the opportunity to achieve greatness.
Before the adoption, michael was lost. He had no idea what it meant to have a family or to belong to anything. He had nobody to share his emotions with, nobody to look after. Michael was acceptable to the gang violence in his area, and without the Thoue family, his destiny most likely wouldnt have been as bright. The Thoue family gave him all the essentials and more; a car, a bedroom, clothes, video games. Michael was just one of the kids. He belonged to the family.
Security is needed in order to be able to achieve your full potential. If you arent sure that you can get a meal, or find a warm place to stay, then you arent secure. You need to fight for your essentials before you can go on and achieve greatness; thats just what michael did. He was lucky enough to have someone open their arms to him, and give him security. Someone who put him through school and kept him motivated through all the intense football training. Someone who not only looked out for his best interests, but also kept him on the path to success. Michael was fortunate to have such luck in his life. Without the Thoue family, he could have been killed, gone to jail, or still been homeless.
