What Advice to give to a 13 Year Old Freshman

Capturing moments in high school is important, but there are a few things I wish I would have known as a freshman. I would tell incoming freshman to make sure to attend every class every day, keep their grades up and do as much volunteering and extracurricular activities as possible. Yes there are tons of distractions to side track you from class, but your education should always come first. Even when you think you have more important things to do you have to be your own motivation to push yourself to go to class. Not attending class will catch up to you in the long run. When you see them astricts and have to do all of those hours of attendance appeals, you’ll know then that skipping with your so called friends was not worth it. When you have going to class with no problem down pact, there should be no reason you fail to turn in your work. While time in the classroom is important, work in the classroom is just as crucial. No matter what, you should turn in every single assignment given to you. Even when you don’t understand something you should at least do the work to show that you at least tried.. You may not get the best grade, but ehat you do get would obviously be better than receiving a zero. When you have the grades and attendance, you should challenge yourself to do some type of extra-curricular activities or even volunteer work. They would definitely look good on any resume that you make, whether it’s for collage or a job. It’s always a valued thing to show that you participate in something that shows your character. You have to keep in mind, even though four years may seem like a large amount of time, it goes by extremely fast having you wonder where it all went. You could say “ oh I’ll get to that later” or “I’ll finish that next year”, but that’s unnecessary procrastination , and to keep putting it off is a waist of time. Just remember, at the

As one of the largest computer systems companies, Dell pioneered the concept of selling personal computers direct to customers with it’s build-to-order manufacturing system. Looking specifically at Dell’s working capital competitive advantage, several aspects put Dell ahead of the curve. Through Dell’s Direct Sales model, they get paid before they have to spend money, which reduces/eliminates accounts receivables. They also keep their inventories low which not only reduces the warehouse cost, but also minimizes the decreased value of inventory over time. Another advantage of orders manufactured on demand is that it allows Dell to quickly adapt and change when unexpected events arise such as product defects.…

Canada made many significant contributions to the winning World War II and one of the major contributions Canada made was the Royal Canadian Air Force. A significant contribution the air force made was they provided a place for allied pilots to train and supplied a large amount of money. The Air Force helped protect the convoys going across the Atlantic and helped develop new anti- naval weapons. Another contribution was defending Britain from German bombings and bombing Germany. For all these reasons, the RCAF made a very significant contribution to the victory of World War II.…

Another big key to high school is, even though it’s the start of your freshman year; it’s not anything like the years before and is definitely no place to goof off and not do your work because your first few years are your absolute most important, and will start the base of your high school career and your college career too.…

If I had not attended so many social events my grades could have been significantly better. A majority of students would agree that by spending more time with friends and less on school work, your grades will drop drastically. I put my friends and social life before my school work. This doesn’t mean that I should not have gone to any social events, just not as many. By going to so many games, I stayed out late and did not give myself enough time to complete my homework. I will not make the same mistake in college; I will get my attitude straight and…

My advice to you is to not goof off and horse around in class, because if you do you will most likely regret it later on and realize that if you would have paid more attention during class and turned in all your work on time high school would be easier. I can tell you that from experience because now it’s really difficult for me to work from all the procrastinating that I have built up and has become a habit. I have now formed a habit of doing my work and setting reminders for myself to do my homework that I have at home and read ahead to be ahead of class so I can keep up and be more recommendable for my college letter of recommendation.…

In your readings this week we learned about social reaction (labeling) theory, which is the view that people become criminals when labeled as such and when they accept the label as a personal identity. You will now be able to examine labels given to you, or someone you know, and view how these labels affect your life (or theirs).Have you ever been given a negative label? If so, did this negative label because you harm? Did you lose the label, or did it become a permanent marker that still troubles you today? Note: If you have never been given a negative label, please discuss someone you know who has had this experience, answering all of the questions.…

A second piece of advice is do not let peer pressure ruin your life or friendships. A lot of people go through high school partying and doing drugs and it changes a lot of people. That is one reason a lot of friendships will end because one friend will do something that the other one does not approve of, and they will start to argue about it and just end up not being friends anymore because one decided to make a bad choice. It ruins lives because people can develop addictions to alcohol or certain drugs because of peer pressure. If you listen to a loser then you end up a loser later on so it is just best in high school to just follow what you strongly believe in, and to not be afraid to be yourself and do what you want to do. It’s your life to live, so you make your own choices. The last and final piece of advice to new freshmen would be to just have fun, do not let stupid stereotypes or people who think they are too cool tell you what to do. If you want to be a computer geek, then be a computer geek. If people say anything to you, just let it go in one ear and out the other. They…

Nobody denies that our society has changed from time to time and each generation is different from each other. When my mom and dad started to study, they primary goal was to graduate from high school and go to a great college. My Mom had the chance to study at Zamorano, a great college and the best one for me. There she learned new and different skills needed to make it through the requirements Zamorano asked for, she successfully graduated and was one of the first woman to become an agricultural engineer. Beside the traditional path that my mom took, she also needed skills that helped achieve her first job and becoming more successful in life. In my opinion, you should take both paths, because both can help you a lot in life.…

    2. Commit yourself to getting good grades. Good grades are entirely necessary to get into a good school unless you’re a top notch athlete. The best case scenario is that you have good grades from the beginning. However, if you start off badly and improve your grades, colleges will give you points for this. Many admissions officers won’t look at your application if your grades are too low or show a steady decline. Spending a night studying while your friends play Wii may not excite you, but you need to look at this long-term. Think of it this way, grades are a bridge. They will serve you to get into a college where you will have more freedom. In college, grades may not be as important as in high school.…

First let’s answer what’s the importance of attending all your classes? Well to start off with attending class helps you to learn in many different ways. Lectures help you out on reading assignments, class presentations show information differently than the text, discussion of topics provides current or new information, and hearing comments and questions of others may answer your own questions. Taking your classes seriously is the only way that you will ever do well in college. Going to class is a good thing because well you paid for it. Why throw your money away simply because you don't feel like going? Don't let your teacher get free money, and then give them an excuse to fail you. Why would you even sign up for college if you weren't going to go to class in the first place? There is no reason not to go to class if you are going to college. That is why you go to school, because you are taking classes to learn. It’s only beneficial to you!…
