In your friend's situation, she probably got frustrated at times. I knew a girl in high school who was dyslexia and sometimes she got frustrated because she could not pick up the information like everyone else. After some testing, she was able to bring a recorder to class, so she can record the lessons. According to Zunker (2016), the acceptance of one's physical condition is often linked to all aspects of one's self-esteem. Counselors need to assist clients in dealing with prejudice and discrimination, and especially the way it affects an individual self-image. Great work!

    The earlier the student with dyslexia is identified the more time they have to receive the support they need to succeed in their learning. A few of the different accommodations students with dyslexia can receive are reading groups, extra time on standardized tests, and programs that use text and audio when students are reading.
