Scientific Method and Steps in Scientific Inquiry Paper
Scientific Methods are used in many areas and that includes Human Services. In this paper there will be discussions and explanations on how scientific methods can be used in the Human service field. The steps involved in scientific inquiry and why they are important will also be included in this paper. Typically human service professionals use the scientific methods to help gain information on a client and also to understand how to approach the client’s issues. Professionals also must research other resources to meet the needs of the client in order to ensure that they are receiving accurate help.
Scientific method can be described as a method for research and study that is applied to investigate observations and also to bring answers to the questions that are being asked. Also it involves the evaluation and investigation of present and future problems. The cause and effect relationship can be exploited within the scientific method. It also exploits all of the facts, opinions, records and evidence to find the right plan. Being a human service professional, using scientific method can help to identify the solution to the problem that the client is having. It will also help

Scientists gets answers to their original questions through scientific method. Through observation, scientists are able to frame the ways that they want to use in their research. In the hypothesis, the answer that they have in their mind is contained. After that they have predictions which happens to be their specific belief of the scientific suggestion.     In this experiment I will find the base heart rate of each water flea. The base heart rate is the control in my experiment. The variables in the experiment are alcohol and caffeine. After finding the control of the first flea I will surround it with alcohol. The second flea will go through the same process as the first flea did, except the variable will be caffeine. The purpose of these two experiments is to see how surrounding one water flea with alcohol and another with caffeine affects each water flea’s heart rate. I believe the Daphnia Magnus (two different water fleas) will go through a similar experience and similar side effects of having alcohol and caffeine in their bodies as humans do.
