Sainsbury’s offers more options with similar or same foods. For instance, Sainsbury’s had 112 products in its boxed pizza range, whilst ASDA’s offer fell to around 34; Sainsbury’s had a fruits offering of 257 products, whereas ASDA offered about 250; Sainsbury’s offered 318 milk products, against ASDA’s 250. 2. Location in town centre: more convenient Convenience is another advantage for Sainsbury’s regarding to its location strategy compare with Tesco and ASDA. Sainsbury’s is generally located in the town center where may deliver more convenience to customers. 3. variety of merchandise Sainsbury’s is a repertoire shop which could provide most of commodities customers needed in daily life rather than one stop retailer like Morrisons. Thus, there are a variety of merchandise in Sainsbury’s, including food, daily necessities, cosmetics and clothes. This gives customers a large number of choices for their different needs. 4. multiple business structure Sainsbury’s has a powerful business structure with a combination of stores, online groceries, bank, energy and entertainment. This is a huge superiority for Sainsbury’s to gain more profits and enlarge the market. 5. higher market share(16.8%) This diagram illustrates that in 2012/2013, Sainsbury 's achieved the national scale with 16.8% market share in the UK retailing industry, similar with ASDA and only behind
