Research: Twinning Program in Help Uni??
Chapter 1: Introduction 1.0 Brief introduction on the topic
‘Why local student chosen HELP University twinning program instead of in-housing program’ is the topic that I had decided to do. What is HELP University? HELP University is one of the local Universities in Malaysia. It provides in-housing program and twinning program. In-housing program is the program that we need to study the whole course in HELP University. Conversely, twinning program is a program that provides us to transfer to their Partnership University. 1.1 Research objectives
The reason of local student chosen Twinning Programs (HELP University) would be my purpose of doing this research. Moreover, I will try to find out the answer of who influence their decision, twinning programs have a higher possibility of getting a job and majority of them choosing HELP University is because of twinning programs. Meanwhile, there are lots of students studying in University and they don’t know how to different between in-housing and twinning program. With this research we can help them to compare these two programs and let them know the right way to choose a Program.

1.2 Research questions
In the questionnaire I would like to ask 3 important questions. Firstly, who is the one that influence them to choose the program? The one influence them may be affect their future because choosing a program is like choosing a path for future. Secondly, is the reason of chosen twinning program? In this question we can know the element of consideration on choosing a program. Lastly, I would like to ask the program that most of them studying in HELP University. With this question, we can know which program is most attractive in HELP University.

1.3 Limitations of research
While doing this research, I found that there are several serious limitations that I faced. Firstly, it is the interviewee must be a local student, studying in HELP University and taking degree program. The reason of choosing degree student it is because twinning program is only provided for degree students only. Secondly is the manpower. Due to the shortage of manpower, it is impossible to interview everyone in twinning program. Lastly, time is the most serious limitation. With the lack of time, I couldn’t interview every student which is taking twinning program in this year. It should be a one year research, so that my data would be more accurate.

Chapter 2: Literature Review 1.0 2.4 Literature Review
If you are planning to save money and enjoy study as a part of your course abroad, then you might consider twinning program.

In India (1995), the concept of twinning programs started. In that period, majority of the foreign educators prefer studying the twinning because the living costs are low and income is high. However, students in India also prefer twinning program because it is cheaper than a course undertaken in abroad. Moreover, they can get a foreign degree and international exposure. For students who are taking twinning program, they have to know that their courses are usually cooperated with their foreign partnership.

There are several objectives that we are needed to considered before choosing a Twinning Program; quality of course, visa rejection and academic credit.

In the point of view quality of course, everyone will think that Europeans university are the best choice because most of them are top ranked school. Although, it is the truth but sometime it also wrong to presume that all Europeans institutions are good. Therefore, students must crosscheck whether the foreign degree they wish to obtain has more than just paper value.

VISA Rejection is another serious issue. In most of twinning program presume that students will obtain the visa. Therefore, most of the colleges do not have any backup plan for the students which are rejected in the visa application. So every single student has to check out what is the alternative source of education the domestic college has worked out if this kind of situation surfaces.

Lastly, students in twinning program must fulfill foreign college (Partnership) academic credits, or else they will delay their course until they meet the requirement.

Chapter 3: Research Methodology 2.0 3.5 Research method
In this research, it can be separate into 4 sections; section A, B, C and D. Section A is to gather answerer information. After that, section B is to let the answerer to tick their opinion and the way of thinking. Section C is about agrees and disagree path. In this path I can conclude the answer by the elasticity of their feeling. Finally, section D is to persuade our answerer to write their opinion. With their opinion, I can analysis it and use it as my conclusion. 3.6 Research Instruments
Questionnaires are used as my research instrument; it needs the least of time to gather the outcome. However, interview and observation need more time to collect data and analyze it.

3.7 Participants
In this research, students who are local student, studying in HELP University and taking twinning programs are our research objective; they are the only ones that can tell us the purpose of taking twinning programs. The reason of choosing local student is; majority of them can tell us the benefits that had provided in twinning programs instead of the fees. If we chose International student as research objective, their reasons might be Malaysia having lower cost of living, more opportunity to get a job (developing country), their study won’t be so competitive (country like China, India and so on) and others.

Lastly, the fees and others are the third higher percentages form the chart and both of them having the same percentage.
In the conclusion, we can conclude that higher possibility of getting employed is the largest part in the pie chart. It has three times bigger than credibility of program and six times larger than fees and others.

Above all, we can conclude that friends are the main power to affect a student decision.

In the column above are the programs that chosen by majority of HELP University students.
First, we can see that, there is 4 type of programs that had been provided in HELP University; A level, Degree, Twinning Program and Diploma. Moreover the answers above are provided by HELP University Degree students.

Chapter 5: Recommendations 5.1 Conclusions
Lastly, we can conclude that majority of local students chosen HELP University because of Degree programs. However, Twinning programs are not local student first choice, but most of them agree that twinning programs provide higher possibilities of getting employed. Moreover, majority of HELP students believes that friends are one of the impacts that influence them on choosing programs.

5.2 Recommendations
I suggest that HELP University Library is a good place to distribute questionnaires and you can collect your feedback after a few of minutes. After that, creating the questions is no need to be too specific in one particular group, because it would be tough to match the specific answerer. Thirdly, try to make more choices and plus ‘others: _____’. So that the answerer call tell us what exactly they want to instead of the choice in the questionnaires. Lastly, do not make questions which are unbalance or already justified. Justified questions are questions like ‘HELP University is best in Twinning Programs? ’. In this situation, the answer is yes than it would be alright. Conversely, it can be other meaning; when the answer is no it means HELP University is bad in Twinning Programs. But the truth may be HELP University is the second best in Twinning Programs. Thus, unbalance or justified question may cause the data to be less accurate.

One of the biggest ideas that are considered when applying to a university is the proximity of their house. Many people like to study close to home so that they can see their family every day and they wouldn’t have to pay for residence and meal plan. Many people get home sick when staying away from their families because the students are sharing rooms with unknown people. The students would also get more fat because of food that is served under the meal plan. Some students get stressed because they don’t know where they can get help when they need it. They only know how to get help from their parents. When looking from a parent’s point of view, it is stressful for them because the parent does not know what their kid is doing at university whether if the student is passing or not. Many of the parents arrange with their kid to come home every weekend just to touch base and see what is happening but, the parents still don’t know what is happening. Many of the parents would get depressed because of the student. It is natural for a parent to worry about what the child is doing but when it comes to making their child live by him / herself in university, some worry too much. Therefore, one of the factors to consider when choosing a university is the proximity of the house.…
