DATE: ___________________ LEVEL: K-5 TEACHER: _____________ MONDAY | WEDNESDAY | FRIDAY | AIM: “Knowing each other” | AIM: “Recognizing and using the present continuous” | AIM: “Reviewing the present continuous” | BEGINNIG UP: “Introducing yourself” Students make a circle and start answering questions and making new ones as soon as they receive a ball. | BEGINNING UP: “Rosie´s family”. Students read a text about Rosie´s family and circle the present continuous with red color. | BEGINNING UP: “What are we doing” Students talk about what they think their family (parents, brothers, sisters, etc.) is doing at that moment. | PROCESS: “Doing Acrostics” T: asks personal information to the students. E.g.: what is your name? How old are you? What is your favorite color?Ss: they answer the questions and make their personal profile.They will be asked to bring a picture of themselves to paste on it.T: explains what an acrostic is. Asks her students to make an acrostic using their names. The teacher makes an example.Ss: they make an acrostic with their name. They highlight what they like or dislike. | PROCESS: “When to use the present continuous”Students watch a video: “The woolly jumper” and they discuss it. Students receive an incomplete text and they have to complete it according to the image. | PROCESS: “My Ideal Room”Students receive a worksheet: a reading about Cedric Burton. They read it and write true or false.Students are asked to complete some specific information using present continuous.Speaking part: Students talk about their ideal room.Game: “The knot”.Students have to make a circle and take hands with different classmates which are not next to them. Then they have to untangle the knot without letting go of their hands. | ENDING UP: “Memory testing”T: asks students their classmates’ personal information. | ENDING UP: “Guessing”Students have to guess what their classmates do. E.g.: “You are singing” , “You are eating”, etc. | ENDING UP: “Singing”Students listen to a song: “The Climb” and fill in the blanks. |
