Radiology Organizational Structure
Organizational structure is a group of people working together to achieve goals and objective for the organization. The purpose is to show the reporting relationships of job descriptions within the business. An important tool to report and manage employees working together is structure. There are areas of an organizational structure that will assist the businesses to be profitable and successful. Firstly, the height which pertains to the number of levels from top management to lower level employees. Secondly, is the span of control which refers to the number of employees who are executives, managers, and supervisors. For example, a radiology manager may have many as seven (7) supervisors reporting to him/her. Thirdly, businesses structure their companies around many departments by product, function or customers. Lastly, but not least hybrid or matrix structures are combined. For example, with the introduction of a new product, a temporary team may be put in …show more content…
The Chief Executive Officer at the first level, the Manager of Radiology at the second level in charge of the entire Radiology department and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the front- line Supervisors at the third level who reports directly to the Radiology Manager and is responsible for the supervision and coordinating the activities of their section to meet the needs of the patients. There are seven (7) supervisors Radiology, Computed Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Special procedures, Mammography and an Administrative Supervisor, the last level the Radiology Technologists, Magnetic Resonance Technologists, Computed Technologists, Ultrasound Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Special Procedures Technologists, and Mammography Technologists.
