PREFACE

Summer Internship Program (SIP) is a part of MBA curriculum to help the management student in understanding the practical realities through the On-Job Training in respective sector. As it is based on On-Job Training, it helps the management student in understanding the organizational culture and working condition.

This report contains information provided by Bhailal Amin General Hospital (BAGH), Vadodara by the guidance from different officials of BAGH, Vadodara and it is the result of working with HR Department. An honest attempt has been made to collect all the related data about BAGH and the information mentioned in this report are true to the best of our knowledge.

I am glad for having such an opportunity to carry out SIP Training. I am glad to have benefits of the On-Job Training study.

It has made me to use my skills and analytical knowledge. It may be useful as a path of guide to other management students.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Zubin Ardeshar (Manager- HR) who had continuously guided me & supported in all the tasks by giving me valuable insight into issues like the meaning of HR practices, its uses, objectives and tools as well as steps to be considered in developing and studying an organizational structure.

I owe debt of gratitude to Mr. Sunil Dalwadi (Chairman-BIMS) and Mr. Neeraj Nanda (Faculty-BIMS) who has given me enough support & cooperation to me by finding time from her hectic schedule. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Executive Summary

The importance of personnel management is being increasingly realized in industrial and non-industrial organization both in India and abroad. The realization has come about because of increasing complexity of the task of managers and administrators. In most organizations the problems of getting the competent and relevant people, retaining them, keeping up their motivation and morale, and helping them to both continuously grow and contribute their best to the organizations, are now viewed as the most critical problems.

So with this reference the project titled Role of HR in Healthcare has been conducted, based on the primary research in Bhailal Amin General Hospital (BAGH), Vadodara has been prepared to get a better insight into the management practices adopted by BAGH with reference to HR Policies prepared by the HR department in Hospital. It emphasizes on the importance of a clear cut organization structure and culture to avoid any confusion.
