Objective: Identify the various demographic characteristics of today’s workforce
EXAMPLE: Using your current (or past) work experience, share an example of a team that you were a member of in the workplace. Of all the team members selected for the team (including yourself), explain how the team was diverse based on “individualists” and “collectivists.”
Example answer: The team I currently work on is very diverse. Even though we are small, we all have very different ways of working. I prefer to work alone, or I’m an individualist. I enjoy troubleshooting and seeking out answers. I like to get my work done without interruptions, like meetings. Another individual on my team is definitely a collectivist. She loves to have meeting after meeting, and in my opinion, most of the meetings are pointless. We could easily figure out what needs to be done without having a meeting.
Now, in saying that, I’m not opposed to teamwork. I really do enjoy working on a team. But there has to be a limit to being in my space and taking up my time. Respect the fact that I have work to do, even if it is part of the
