You are asked to select ONE organisation from the list above and undertake the following tasks:
a) Identify the various environmental forces affecting your chosen or ganisation and explain their impacts (25 marks)
b) Formulate a strategy that will enable the organisation to respond and prosper in its changing environment. Which external opportunities should it seize and which external threats should it counter? (25 marks)
Assessment criteria are specifically related to the learning outcomes and the relevant skillsbased set of those outcomes are repeated here:S1. An ability to develop ability to collect, analyze and reformat information from a variety of relevant sources
S3. An ability to demonstrate ability to research and locate information relevant to understanding the business environment.
S4. An ability to practice and develop written and oral communication skills. W ith those in mind you will be assessed on:
your ability to find and use relevant references and data;
the extent to which you use and apply logical, insightful and convincing analysis to the topic
the structure and effectiveness of arguments deployed and their presentatio n; the correct sourcing of material and the quality of referencing in your bibliography. The University’s general marking scheme sets the parameters for all our marking schemes and a tabular presentation of it is shown in the module guide. You are strongly advised to keep separate copies of your assessments and to retain the receipt issued by the St Peter’s Library Assignment Services section when you submit the individual assignment. Remember that your assignment is subject to the University rules regarding plagiarism and collusion. These terms, and the University policies which apply to them, were explained in Induction week. Basically it means that you should not pass off other people’s work as your own, you must cite from original sources and you m ust not copy fellow students’ work .
