Persuasive Essay On Stop Animal Testing
Animal experimentation, also known as animal testing refers to the action when scientists test any chemical or drug in animals for human-oriented purposes. The most common animals that are used are mices, rats, and primates. Animal are tested for cosmetic products research and medical advancements. The first federal law issued in the U.S. was the Animal Welfare Act, which regulated animal use in research. Most of the tests that are made on animals, failed or have failed in humans. Animal experimentation should stop because it hurts animals and it’s not illegal.
Animal experimentation hurts animals in various ways. Every year in the U.S., over 100 million animals are used for biomedical experimentation in laboratories. Some animals are forced to inhale or ingest toxic substances. Animals are purposefully infected with diseases that, otherwise they would never contract. Cats are most commonly used in neurological research, and not all of them receive anesthetics or analgesics to ease the pain. Some tests involve killing pregnant animals and testing their fetuses. A survey found that 89% of primates exhibited self-injurious violent behavior like hair pulling and biting other monkeys.
Animal experimentation is not illegal; the law allows animals to be burned, poisoned, isolated, and become addicted to drugs. The U.S. law doesn’t require pain killers to be

Animal experimentation is a sensitive topic because it helps find a cure for diseases, but it also kills over a 100 million animals every year. Most of the animals don’t receive any type of anesthesia. I believe that scientists who work on animal experimentation should do something pleasant for the animals and return them to their natural habitats, so they don’t suffer their entire life. I think that the benefits that animal experimentation provides doesn’t justify the fact that humans have to harm

As medical science advances the need for more extensive testing of new medicines and pharmaceuticals. These drugs need to go through years of testing to see for possible long term affects. Instead of treatment on humans, scientists use a wide variety of animals to simulate the effects. These animals physiological similarities to humans would be their ultimate downfall. Yearly thousands of animals wake up each day, robbed of the liberties and freedom every organism has a right to. Although animals lack the self awareness of humans, putting them through such preventable suffering through inhumane experimentation is unjust and should be stopped.…

Animal testing for scientific or commercial use is wrong and inaccurate because animals are made up differently than humans. Animal testing is procedures done on animals for research to test medicine and commercial items to see if they are harmful or effective for humans. The experiments can cause the animals to have physical and mental suffering and distress. Most of the animals are killed at the end of the experimentation but some are used again in other experiments. The most common animals used for the experiments are fish, mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, farm animals, hamsters, birds, cats, dogs, and monkeys. More than 115 million animals are used in experiments worldwide. Animals are living beings too, they should get the chance to live…

Imagine being confined to a cold cage, no bigger than you, without family, or friends, watching, as one by one, your compatriots leaving, but never come back, waiting silently for your turn. Good morning audience of the Federal Youth Parliament, this is what many animals endure before their final moments, tortured, hurt, and isolated. Animal experimenting is a national system of sadistic torture, vivisection, and genocide, which has been carried out for generations under the disguise of “medical research” and definitely must be stopped. The three main reasons for banning this grotesque science are: present experimentation is currently not species specific therefore results are inaccurate, killing for beauty is not worth it, and animals are more useful alive.…

“Why Animal Testing Should Be Banned” One of the most unrecognized inhumane acts that happen on a daily basis is animal testing. Animal testing is testing that scientist do to test out a product to see what the products outcome will become either bad or good. These products can vary from hair products, cosmetics and even medications. Animal testing should be banned because it’s dangerous to animals, it is bad testing, and it is a waste of money. To start off animal testing should be banned because it is dangerous to animals.…

There are many horrific forms of cruelty to animals which include: forcing chemical exposure in toxicity testing, which can includes oral force-feeding, forced inhalation, skin or injection into the abdomen, and/or muscle. Also, animals are exposed to drugs, chemicals or infectious disease at levels that cause illness, pain and distress, or death. Genetic manipulation, such as adding or “knocking out” of one or more genes is often performed on animals. Other types of experimentation require that researchers restrain animals in painful ways for the purpose of observation or examination. In addition to prolonged periods of physical restraint, many animals experience food and water deprivation, surgical procedures without anesthesia, and the infliction of wounds, burns and other injuries in order to study pain physiology and wound treatment (Humane International…

Animals are put through so many awful things you wouldn’t even believe. Animals are restrained and burned, starved, dehydrated, and purposefully hurt to test remedies and healing processes. Does that sound fair? How about this? Some animals are killed by carbon dioxide. Neck breaking, or even decapitation. Listen to this, the Draize Eye Test where they hold a rabbit's eyelids open by clips so they can’t blink the products away. According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in 2010 that 97,123 animals suffered from experiments.…

    Animal Banning

Animal experimentation, also known as animal testing, animal research, and in vivo testing is the use of non-human animals in experiments. Animal testing is very cruel. Animals are kept in boxes or cages that they can barely move in. They are tested to what substance cause pain, stress or even both. Animal testing kills about 50 percent of animals and the others end up injured. United States laws allows animals to be drowned, poisoned, addicted to drugs, isolated, starved, shocked, burned, and brain damaged. Animals are infected with diseases that they would not normally contract, tiny mice grow tumors as large as their own bodies, kittens are purposely blinded, rats are made to suffer seizures and primates skulls are cut open and electrodes are implanted in them. Experimentators force-feed chemicals to animals, conduct repeated surgeries on them, implant wires in their brains, crush their spines, and much more. After enduring these terrifying, painful procedures, animals are then usually dumped back into a cage without any painkillers. No experiment, no matter how painful or trivial is prohibited and painkillers are not required. Animals languish in pain, ache with loneliness and long to roam free and use their minds. Experimenting on animals should be illegal around the country; it is only cruelty to innocent animals.…

Everyone has a right to life according to the Declaration of Human Rights and I think that this should be applied to animals as well. It is horrible to torture a human being, but it is even worse to harm an animal. Animals have no say, and can’t comprehend what is going on so I imagine that any animal going through an experiment is very frightened. “There is no doubt that animals experience life, certainly the vertebrates, and possible others. Like us, animals can feel pain and fear, but also excitement and satisfaction.” (Animal Liberation) This just goes to prove that just because an animal can’t express through words that it is in pain doesn’t mean that the animal is experiencing torture at all. Every single experiment from injecting medicine with unknown side effects, to sticking them with needles; they feel it all. Of course more people tend to care more about dogs, cats, or rabbits but animals that people don’t seem to care much about like mice still deserve a chance. What I don’t understand is why they do experiments on animals. For example, why inject medicine into a dog, which would be used for a human? How can we be sure that just because side effects don’t show up on a dog doesn’t mean it won’t on a human?…

    Animals Have Feelings Too

It is true, of course, that animals are similar to humans and it seems easier and more ethical to test upon them in our society; however, animals are physically and emotionally harmed during testing. Without a law against it, and no ability to deny the tests, animals are the easiest test subjects. It is believed that they cannot experience the same level of suffering that a human can. Each year in United States laboratories and others around the world, millions of animals are used for experiments to test everything from suspected carcinogens to the insignificant toxicity of anti-per spirants. Some animals endure physical or mental pain in the course of research, but these experiments are still in progress because people believe that they are essential for human health. Many of the medical breakthroughs in the past century have resulted solely on these animal experiments (Leepson n. pag.). What gives humans the right to manipulate animals? “‘To my mind, we shouldn't be thinking of monkeys as commodities, disposable resources that can be the object of distressing experimentation, for example,’ says Mark Bernstein, a professor of philosophy and ethics at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. ‘Just by virtue of their sentience, their capacity to suffer, they should have the minimal right to not suffer,’ he says. ‘We don't treat compromised human beings’ —…

"More than 205,000 new drugs are marketed worldwide every year, most undergo the most archaic and unreliable testing methods still in use: animal studies" (PETA). Animals may seem like the ideal specimens for testing new drugs, but the experiments are untrustworthy and cause unknown side effects. Animals have helped form useful medicines for humans like anesthesia; they have also helped put dangerous drugs on the market (AMPEF). Animal testing is plainly unnecessary and downright cruel. Testing anything on animals, and putting them at harm, for this animal testing should be outlawed.…
