The world I am from is one of looking beyond the past and searching ahead. In the seventh grade, my seventh year of playing soccer, I had become adapted to the tougher, late-game situations, and being the second best goalie in the league (including the eighth graders), I had pride in my ability to perform under pressure. I immediately jumped on top of the ball, and the player, hoping to kick the ball out of my grasp, broke my right foot and became the Achilles’ heel to end my career.…

My palms become cold and sweaty at the same time as I struggled to think of words that would make me sound intelligent and appealing. I only had two options: either make this the most boring week, or the best week. As I started to speak, I made a conscious decision to ensure that I stepped out of my comfort zone and amaze everyone, be less conservative, and communicate. Stepping out of my comfort zone allowed others to notice the qualities I project. Like that week in the summer, I will try to describe them again; my personality traits and strengths, weaknesses, and my future goals.…
