The College Planning and Preparation course has provided me with an array of knowledge about college. I learned about financial aid, I looked up different colleges, and learned a lot about what I needed to do in order to get into the college of my choice. I also learned about the different activities college provides and about the college atmosphere. College Planning and Preparation taught me how to research different colleges, to writing college essays, and how to get the most out of college.…

Since a very young age I was being taught who Jesus was, was read bible stories, and have gone to church. As I grew older, I began to truly understand the things I had been taught and developed my own understanding of my Christian faith. I developed relationships with people within my church and youth group that I attended and was comfortable talking with them about my faith. Also, I have helped lead some of my friends whom did not grow up in a Christ centered environment to Christ. As I was starting my college search I decided that a Christian affiliated school is where I wanted to go. I wanted to be in an environment that could help me grow in my relationship with Christ, grow relationships with other people through Christ, and feel comfortable sharing my beliefs all while receiving a college education.…
The process of Inquiry is a crucial, yet often overlooked, skill everyone should learn in society today. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, inquiry is “an examination into facts or principles,” but in reality it is much more than that. It is at its heart a true desire to know, to seek out answers rather than avoid problems. It is effective questioning, where one does not merely take facts at face value but rather puts effort into checking and testing those claims, which in turn helps him better reflect upon the world around him. Personally, the process on Inquiry has, and will continue to help me immensely throughout my academic career, through how it affects me personally, how it relates to Liberty University, and in the future as I continue to participate in the larger community of scholars and conversations within my specific interests.…
During course registrations at my middle school, I was advised to take AP classes in high school. AP classes were rigorous classes that challenged you and taught you things at a college-level, unlike the ordinary High School Curriculum. Originally, I denied myself. An obstacle I had at that time was not taking the next step because of the fear I had of college classes. It wasn’t that my family was financially unable. My family was able to pay for the AP…
Right now in the U.S. College is basically a necessity to getting a good career later in life, but sadly, as it stands now, most U.S. citizens just cannot afford to go to college and further their education. This is a really sad fact in the U.S. right now and its due mostly to the fact of colleges, instead of competing with other schools in prices and tuition rates, compete in having the nicest looking campus and the most amount of student services. Doing this is actually driving the rates of most colleges up and without reform, many citizens in the U.S. won’t even have higher education as an option to them.…
I came to Snow College the fall after I graduated high school in 2014. While I was here I did not really care much for my education. Instead I would find any reason I could to not go to class like playing video games or working during class time. I only came because my parents had forced me to. I had no reason to come to snow and after the first semester I packed up and went home. I got a job and began to save my money for a car and a computer. I became a manager at the store I worked for and saved enough money to move to my own place.…

My eyes catch an envelope with my grandfather’s name crafted in Korean hangul. The jumble of Japanese kanji in the letter’s contents puzzles me. During Japanese occupation, Korean language was suppressed to destroy Korean national identity. As the letter was my recently-deceased grandmother’s pledge of faithfulness to my grandfather, I treasured it as a sacred artifact. I wondered, however, why my grandmother bypassed her option to finally exercise cultural liberation in her native language.…

My motivation for being in school is I want to be able to give my kids a good life. I want them to have the things that I wasn’t able to have when I was growing up. I don’t want them to ever have to worry about not having new school clothes, new shoes, or the toys that they want. I don’t believe I will be able to help them much with a minimum wage job. That is where college comes in. With a good degree, I will be able to have that extra money for my children and I will be able to create a good life for myself and my family.…

When i was in 9th grade I almost failed my history class and I was concerned about my gpa as well. Coming into 9th grade I thought it was going to be really easy in 9th grade but I think the real problem was that I was not focused At that time i really didn’t know what gpa was and when i got to 10th grade after the first marking period i had a 3.0 gpa, i didn’t expect that because in the first period of my 10th grade year i did really well but then i was told the reason it was low was because of my 9th grade year. Sometimes I wish I could go back to 9th grade and redo the grade. History class was not the only class that I was worried about because I was just passing some of the other class as well. After the first semester my parents, teachers were all concerned about me and their attention just gave me more pressure to do good. If i could just go back in time to fix the problems I had that year I really think that would help me get a better gpa and make me a better student.…
